BRIGHT STATION SECURES 5,500 SEAT BRITISH AIRPORT AUTHORITY (BAA)
               INTRANET KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT CONTRACT

LONDON - April 18, 2000 - Bright Station plc
(www.brightstation.com), the proposed new name for The Dialog
Corporation (NASDAQ:DIAL, LSE: DLG), today announced that the
British Airport Authority - BAA plc (LSE: BAA) - the world's leading
airport company, has selected Bright Station's knowledge management
software suite for deployment to over 5,500 employees/desktops
throughout its global Intranet. Separately, Bright Station
announced that it has officially named its knowledge management
business, Smartlogik.

Smartlogik's k-working software suite
(http://www.brightstation.com/info/companies/kworking.shtml) -
including the Discovery and Alert capabilities, will provide key,
easy-to-use searching (Discovery) and alerting (Alert) functionality
across BAA's new corporate intranet which is being developed to
support its knowledge management strategy. Smartlogik's tailored
solution for BAA will enable employees to search content on the
corporate intranet using natural language queries.

In responding to search queries, Discovery identifies subjects in
which the user is interested. By opting to receive Alerts, the user
is kept up to date with new items published on the intranet,
matching those areas of interest. Intelligent agent technology
means the Alert software continues to learn about the user's
requirements, to automatically deliver related information that
might be of interest to the user, as well as information similar to
that requested previously.

"Having evaluated offerings which include technologies from Autonomy
(EASDAQ: AUTN) and Infoseek (NYSE: GO), we concluded that
Smartlogik's k-working suite was the most functional, flexible and
scalable solution to meet our needs," said Tony Ward, BAA Group
Services Director. "We are determined to provide the right mix of
tools to make our intranet user-friendly, and to establish it as the
foundation of future knowledge management initiatives. BAA expects
to benefit from the integration of the Smartlogik software both in
terms of improving the efficiency of day to day operations, and in
reaping a return on the investment the company has made in its
intranet."

"We have also been very impressed with Bright Station's
understanding of the needs of our customers," continued Mr Ward,
"and are investigating how the Company's other innovative
technologies - such as InfoSort and WebCheck - might also be
integrated into our knowledge management strategy."

Dan Wagner, CEO of Bright Station, concluded, "The nature of BAA's
business means that the company has to deal with an enormous amount
of information on different subjects - from safety to regulation,
environmental to business issues. Moreover, it is important for BAA
employees to be able to cross-reference those different areas easily
- they need to be able to see the whole picture. That is exactly
why natural language searching has so much to offer an organisation
like BAA - the user is able to search across multiple disciplines
quickly and easily. We are delighted by BAA's endorsement of our
technologies, and to be working with them on this project. We are
keen to explore other business opportunities where we can add value
within the BAA group and we look forward to a long and fruitful
relationship with them."

Bright Station plc (www.brightstation.com) is the proposed new name
for The Dialog Corporation. Bright Station's three technology-
focused divisions include: Web Solutions (WSD), eCommerce (ECD) and
the Internet Ventures Division (IVD), an incubator for promising
Internet start-ups. Bright Station's assets and brands include,
InfoSort, Muscat, WebTop, WebCheck, Sparza, OfficeShopper and
the Smartlogik Knowledge Management business.
