10/8/2023 12:41 | If you buy it from DL we may get the divi back this year 😂 | tuftymatt
10/8/2023 12:14 | Just got a quote for routine car insurance (no accidents, clean licence and 10 years NCD) from Gocompare. Quotes around £360-£400. Tried Direct Line online but they are quoting £880! They aren't going to have many takers on that basis. | kibes
28/7/2023 11:42 | Always worth shopping around.I was with Zenith who put it up over 100% .Went with LV who were cheaper than last year's Zenith quote.Wife was with Flow, part of LV, went up 30+%.Got a price from LV for the same price as last year.No sense or logic to insurance prices. | kasamavic
28/7/2023 11:09 | If 35% is typical hike then i won't waste my time shopping around. | coxsmn
28/7/2023 10:46 | That's a similar story across all providers this year coxsmn. I found out myself back in April with my own and have heard similar stories from friends and family since. | tuftymatt
28/7/2023 10:28 | Car insurance renewal up 35% this year suggests they are building in margin! | coxsmn
07/7/2023 15:21 | Unfortunately my average is 212 and I have no spare cash to average down. For what its worth, i think you are right though. What has materially changed for Whe business? Nothing really just need to sort out those solvency ratio issues and profitability and dividends should return.Just wish I had got in with a far lower average, like yourself..... | stoopid
03/7/2023 17:27 | I am still buying and now hold more than I should at an average in the 140s. The recent issue regarding write offs is trivial. Damage is less of an issue than injury. Write offs are only part of damage. And the hit is merely any gap between prior settlement and any re-estimate. Nothing has changed to derail the effect of the general strengthening of motor rates (with the effect mainly felt from 2024). Nothing has changed to reduce the value of the commercial lines operation (NIG) and other bits (minor lines, rescue and the repair shops) which now account for a large part of the market cap. As I said before, hold to 2025 and a decent return can be expected. | wba1
30/6/2023 21:34 | What if both insured parties are from same insurance company...the no fault party is going to feel stitched up...lower pay out?... | diku
29/6/2023 22:38 | I'm guessing it's only a small minority of their customers, as only a small minority of their customers have their cars written off in any year? | pete160
29/6/2023 21:59 | Yeah I struggle to understand this having been involved in a total loss claim myself. They made an offer, I challenged it and we settled on a number. If that's the process then what have they done wrong in so many cases? They couldn't have agreed a figure then sent out a lower amount as people would have complained at the time right?? | tuftymatt
29/6/2023 21:13 | How can they say vast majority of customers won't be affected at the same token saying they are working to identify from 2017 and 2022...is this market way of communicating...dama Direct Line said in a notice on its website that it was working to identify “everyone affected” by underpayments on written-off cars between the start of September 2017 and mid-August 2022. | diku
29/6/2023 21:01 | "Total loss claim – this means your car isn't repairable (also known as a write-off). At this point, your insurer will agree a settlement figure with you which is likely to be agreed within 30 days, once your insurer has assessed the car and agreed it is a write off." So if its agreed why are they being done for underpaying ??? | yf23_1
29/6/2023 18:18 | . As per the statement non-material financial impact. Look up the defenition -'Material Impact means a significant and ongoing adverse financial or operational impact that is of sufficient magnitude that, if known at the time thereof, a reasonable businessperson would not have proceeded with the Merger, after weighing the anticipated benefits of such Merger against the adverse consequences .' So a RNS stating this would be ridicilous after the previous embarrassment on dividends . I've invested I see opportunity . | wowzer
29/6/2023 17:58 | A money generating company run by the incompetents. Either put the For Sale sign up OR further change out more of the incompetents. DLG needs some business stalwarts to run the show. Maybe time to have a punt. | luckygit

29/6/2023 14:37 | Thx for that LLB....Still trashed the share price though and as for not making a material difference to 2023, do you actually believe them? Would top up if I thought it might recover. But don't want to throw good after bad and looking like possible further falls.... | stoopid
