29/10/2021 17:02 | I know that feeling!I still can't find any substance to explain yesterday's price action, but regardless - and given that recent volumes are definately up, I have increased my position here again today - just in case.! | pete160

29/10/2021 10:10 | In the meantime, there seem to be more than a few happy to take a pathetic 293p... | woodhawk
29/10/2021 09:49 | normally bidders offer a price above recent trading highs, to put the board under pressure. recent means about 3-5 years. for dlg that would mean 420p. they could try 375p but theres no certainty the board would back that. anything post covid will not be even considered as it would be deemed opportunistic. so the realistic zone for anything that may succeed is 375-420 imo. | roguetraderuk
28/10/2021 17:41 | @Yump - it spiked ~>30p today didn't it? what was the cause? | carpingtris
28/10/2021 17:34 | The daily volume seems to be the highest since one day in Aug 2019 with a big upwards daily volume candle and px rise. Haven't seen the final LSE data yet. I'm keeping in mind that on 20-Sep it dropped -4.7% on an 8.6mm (circa £26mm) red daily candle. @Post-close today, green candle (obviously) with 17.2 volume it's +4.54%. Final daily value/volume not yet up at LSE... ps. Two chunky institutional looking sell candles between 2.39 and 2.40pm today totalling circa 1.2mm, from 311 down to 294p in 2 minutes before spiking again fast to 308p. | jrphoenixw2
28/10/2021 17:21 | Judging by previous movements, 15-20p means nowt. | yump
28/10/2021 17:08 | It could well be a case of no smoke without fire. They were on my list to top up my weighting in any case, and at £ 2.95, still represent good value IMO. I suspect that the price spike is either a leaked approach or maybe an activist investor looking to stoke things up and release value to long suffering shareholders. If it is an approach, then possibly an announcement later on tomorrow (Fri) afternoon or more likely a leak to the Sunday papers /Sky business over the weekend and an announcement pre-market Monday. I just wonder if it is someone like Aviva looking to invest their overseas sales monies on more UK assets (which they've indicated they want to focus on) ? As to price then yes, £ 4.00 would be a round figure to aim for. If a bidder wanted to smoke out and fight with others then an opening shot at perhaps £ 3.80, but if they wanted a knock out agreed bid first off, then it would need to be more £ 4.25 - £ 4.50 territory. Just my opinion and if by some fluke, it comes to fruition, I'll submit my £ 1m invoice for banker fees to DLG asap! | pete160
28/10/2021 15:45 | bought some today around lunchtime 283.5p for my ISA - timed well me thinks! :) could just be the bots had a mad moment? | carpingtris
28/10/2021 15:32 | Anyone found anything to explain that move? That's a highly suspect intraday spike. Rarely get anomalous moves like that in the larger UK companies. Almost £4 billion market cap here. There wasn't any whopping big trades near that move either. Do get fat finger moves now and again, can never rule that out. Clearly have had bid rumours in this sector so perhaps one to keep a closer eye on. You can never tell if someone is in the know either and some whisper's going around. All imo DYOR | sphere25
28/10/2021 15:31 | Just added because A) Its bloody cheap B) no smoke without fire | dope007

28/10/2021 14:55 | Personally sick to death of our companies being undervalued and then taken over. It weakens the UK every single time | dope007
28/10/2021 14:55 | 400p + takeover coming. Roll on Monday.Aviva next happy days. | longwell
28/10/2021 14:51 | its always been a sleeper takeover target, sooner or later to get done, but on any bid i would expect a price not lower than 420p. still, we have to wait and see. | roguetraderuk
28/10/2021 14:46 | Luvvly Jubbly! Sold and bought back more for 11p less in a few minutes. | money4nuttin
