Activate and Dimension Data Global Partnership Announcement

Activate, a leading provider of Enterprise self-service, provisioning and automation solutions, announced today that it has entered into its first ever global partnership with South Africa headquartered Dimension Data, the $4.5 B USD global provider of IT infrastructure services and solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Dimension Data will act as both a reseller and implementation partner for the Activate Solution in the Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well as the United States. "Activate is excited to have Dimension Data as our first Global Partner. Dimension Data's global presence and strong services teams will allow Activate to reach markets faster. We believe that Dimension Data's proven track record of assisting customers in managing their overall IT environment from Telephony and networking through to Microsoft Servers and Desktops will add significant value when implementing an Activate solution for Enterprise customers," said Shaun Blackmore, CEO of Activate.

Activate empowers business users to perform common IT tasks which would normally require service-desk or specialist IT support. Through simple web-based interfaces, Activate enables end users to perform self-service functions such as setting up new users, provisioning hardware and software, resetting passwords and managing email lists. Activate works with Microsoft's Active Directory to control security and user access, and automate identity management within the enterprise environment. "Active Directory is a mission critical component in our clients' environments and the seamless integration provided by Activate was a critical factor in our decision to enter into the partnership with Activate, "said Curt Wheadon, Dimension Data Global VP for Microsoft Solutions.

"In today's economic client," continues Wheadon, "clients are asking us to help them to do more with less – and the Activate Solution with its powerful integration with Microsoft AD is ideally suited to that task. With Activate we're able to help clients automate their provisioning process while improving compliance, reducing costs and improving efficiency."

By automating hundreds of daily administrative support tasks, Activate enables organizations to improve response times, reduce the backlog of work and free up IT resources for strategic projects, whilst ensuring compliance to corporate policy and controls. As a result of the improved provisioning processes, the organizations can also enjoy quick returns on investment as they can typically recover their investment within six months. Activate's modular design enables each organization to select the most appropriate functionality and implement a highly customized solution at its own speed and within days.

"We see tremendous business opportunities for both Activate and Dimension Data given the huge Microsoft install base. Moreover, with the increasing pressure for organizations to reduce cost without compromising security and compliance, Activate provides the ideal solution for clients looking to improve their provisioning processes," said Bruce Chamberlin, Business Development Manager of Activate.

TANDBERG and Dimension Data to Video Enable Every State School and TAFE in NSW E-mail

Sydney, 21 May 2009 -TANDBERG (OSLO: TAA.OL), a leading global provider of telepresence, high-definition video conferencing and mobile video solutions, and Dimension Data will provide upgraded core video conferencing infrastructure for access by every school and TAFE in NSW as part of the state's $158 million Connected Classroom Project.

The Connected Classrooms Program is a NSW State Government initiative to provide Department of Education and Training (DET) staff and their students with new opportunities to connect with each other across enhanced facilities for sharing resources and data collaboration.

Under the terms of the contract, TANDBERG and Dimension Data will deliver a solution with capacity for the department to securely connect 2,200 locations via multi-site high-definition video and audio conferencing.

Once fully deployed students from any New South Wales state school will have increased capacity to interact with each other and receive course material irrespective of both their location and the teacher delivering the lesson.

DET's Interactive Classrooms allow students to take virtual excursions anywhere in the world, while schools will be able to beam experts into classrooms for real-time lectures, communicate with peers in other parts of the state, and significantly expand subject choice by providing classes online through videoconferencing.

"This is an extremely exciting project, which TANDBERG and Dimension Data are very proud to partner with DET to enable great educational outcomes for NSW students, teachers and the community. Students and teachers can now be part of a global community and enjoy a richer, engaging and more compelling learning experience," said Philip Siefert, Regional Director ANZ, TANDBERG.

"The initial deployment of video conferencing technology has already had a big positive impact on NSW school students. By utilising the bridging technology from this project, it will raise collaborative learning in our state education system to a whole new level. Dimension Data is really pleased to be working with TANDBERG and DET on this initiative, which is building on the good work we have been doing to date for DET in the areas of video, IP telephony and security," said Pete Murray, NSW State Manager, Dimension Data.

This latest contract for TANDBERG and Dimension Data builds on its tender win last year, to supply the department with 2,200 video conferencing units, one for each state school and TAFE in NSW, the first phase of the state government's Connected Classroom project.
