11/4/2014 12:48 | TV stock pundits are saying we are due a correction - my portfolio has been, "correcting" the past month! | f1araway
19/3/2014 14:21 | Nice recovery on the Chancellor's pledge to freeze scotch duty. | broadwood
01/3/2014 13:46 | £15 is certainly possible, maybe even as low as £12 could be hit. The whole FTSE350 Beverage sector is heading into a stage 4 downtrend as well which should start alarm bells ringing straight away. The second big negative is the sector has been stuck in stage 3 for a year. Falls are always bigger the larger the base. The recent small rally from the start of Feb should serve as a good opportunity to get out while you still can, and move into one of the stronger sectors. | the oxford whale
27/2/2014 12:47 | Oxford, any downside target price, TIA. | essentialinvestor
27/2/2014 10:39 | This looks to be heading into a stage 4 downtrend. Trading below the 30 week MA which is also turning downwards. If I was a holder I would be selling now as there is a high risk to the downside and very little potential upside. | the oxford whale
31/1/2014 02:22 | Skinny you are not so perfect. The word used was 'with' not 'to'. Your assumption of gender is also questionable. The closing price was still negative - impacted by the 'broker error' I assume. Marketing op for Diageo - publish the 'tipple' responsible. | denbos
30/1/2014 21:31 | They were all sells, unsurprisingly. I guess the mms took all they could get at those silly prices and sold back on the bounce. | blunderbuss
30/1/2014 16:46 | "I have spoke to" - obviously English is not his first language. Quite a few trades did go through - see post 442 above. | skinny
30/1/2014 16:42 | this is the answer from barclays: Thank you for your email regarding your order for Diageo shares. "I confirm your order was not dealt as the price only briefly showed a drop to 1691 at 9:26 for under a minute. I have spoke with the dealers and they confirmed this sudden drop was due to a Market Maker inputting an incorrect order which resulted in the stock going into auction. During this time we cannot trade. As soon as it was resolved trading resumed and you will see looking at the intraday chart, the graph resumed from the same point where it dropped from. I confirm your order is still on and if the price does reach your target price it will execute your order." Yes, I wonder if you would have got stopped out though! | artibee
30/1/2014 16:23 | Apparently it did :- 5514 9215588643 1805 150448 UT 1681 1806.5 09:31:10 150,448 43|46|11 1,371,125 1,453,844 306,073 | skinny
30/1/2014 16:20 | Did this go into auction this morning? Bet you couldn't have bought that dip - but they would have stopped you out on it. | penycae
30/1/2014 13:13 | Fair enough, clearly that has been a great strategy, it's the short term SP that my post concerns and the market may not agree with me, I don't short btw my timing is sadly not that good. | essentialinvestor
30/1/2014 12:31 | Short term you may be right Essentials, but I've held, reinvested dividends and added on the dips for 10 years, and I have to say big dips like this don't come around very often. Good management will nearly always deliver. | blunderbuss
30/1/2014 11:18 | Not short DGE, would state that if I was. If investors have a more optimistic take on results fair enough. | essentialinvestor
30/1/2014 11:14 | Good luck with the short Essential | blunderbuss
30/1/2014 10:50 | is this yet another example of a new ceo 'kitchen sinking'. he will be a hero after he 'sorts out this mess' etc. we have seen it so often. | careful
30/1/2014 10:47 | Free cash flow is a shocker imv and net debt Up again. | essentialinvestor
30/1/2014 10:38 | Heading for £17 FWIW. | essentialinvestor
30/1/2014 10:35 | exactly - I had orders at 1750 and 1700 which have not been filled - maybe later!! | artibee

30/1/2014 10:30 | i was trying to buy the spike. but for some reason the spread between the buying price and selling price suddenly widened and then corrected itself. the buying price never spiked down. (some cfd's who went long on todays fall may have been tripped out on margin by that spike.) it has happened to me in the past..can we trust these market people? | careful
30/1/2014 10:29 | seems real. (seen it on another site) Fat fingers?? | james8 |
