08/12/2015 07:49 | Another solid year. Small special dividend helps. They still have masses of cash to develop the business if they find the right opportunities. Conservatively managed and cheaply rated. Happy to hold here. | 18bt

27/4/2015 09:23 | I can recommend Maynard Paton's analysis ( Thank you Maynard. A very thoughtful piece based on hard work gathering the numbers. Where I differ slightly is I'm not so pessimistic on (a) the ROE or (b) the pension deficit. I get much higher numbers for the former (which feeds into the competitive advantage discussion - more so than margin), and I'm not bothered by the later, as a rise in bond yields will sort that out (and it has cash to match). 15/12/2014 11:44 | I have written a 3,000 word analysis of Dewhurst pointing out its qualifications for being considered a Warren Buffett type of investment (I've also bought some more following my May 2014 purchase). I'm particularly interested in the return on capital employed, the dedication and skill of the senior managers, the good economic franchise, the stability and the low MCap relative to the earnings (I prefer to use Warren's 'owner earnings' rather than conventional earnings). Obviously, ADVFN do not want me to post the analysis here. It is at I have recommended it as a 'buy' to my Newsletter followers. Glen | profdoc
02/12/2014 08:22 | Morning All Pretty solid looking figures, nice turnaround, fairly positive outlook for a change. Bought a few of the A shares first thing this am-not expecting fireworks, just hoping for some steady progress. Fingers crossed. | cwa1
03/10/2013 10:05 | Interesting timing of the Chairmans purchase - just after the year end. Assume to results will be released in >60 days otherwise in a Closed Period. Can't believe how long the A v T discount situation has lasted. | cockerhoop
03/10/2013 02:20 | wcb, really? A shares, of course. | insipiens
02/10/2013 21:12 | We have to hope so! I bought a few more in sympathy. It was interesting he bought the As. The disparity between the two is now simply surreal (though I have to say the 'T's look rather expensive). | westcountryboy
02/10/2013 19:51 | Small director's purchase today. First for sometime. Might this mark a turning point for the "A" shares ? | coolen

18/2/2013 21:10 | Does anyone know what was said about dewhurst in the investors chronicle? Thanks. I have held these for a while and sold some the other day as I saw the spread tightened up a lot so took the opertunity to take some profit. Holding the rest long term. Seems a well run solid company and nice and boring. Demand for lifts is only going to increase and dewhurst seems to be leading the way. I like the way the board of directors are conservative in the updates because it leaves room for above expectations and doesn't give investors false hopes which is great for long term holders | pjhutchy |
