Yes more than happy to cut non execs. Not sure what any of them do!

Nobby

The suggestion was to give him one more year. That will make it over 30 years as chair which really ought to be enough for anyone to make a go of it

Take it you have no objections to cutting a couple of non-execs who don't appear to add any value and are certainly not friends of PIs?

I am definitely not in favour of Nigel going. In a time of big changes he is the continuity factor.

ArfAny view on the excessive non-exec excess? Would thinning them out dilute them? Or would it make them more concentrated?MrC

mrC2u, you raise a relevant point. An alternative hypothesis would be that the blood, and indeed the procedure, would leave a very bitter taste.

Culinary lore is that dilution weakens any taste, but in this case I think that dilution would only make the bitterness more intense.

Why do you think there will be an RNS? It was an employee not a director so as it's not a dsiclosable stake, we will hear nothing!

Oh well there it is, the 1 trade, RNS Mon as to who bought almost 11,000,000 share option earlier in the week.

mrC2u (9936): Why aren’t they called vampire investors since they are always calling for fresh blood

It would be worse if they were trying to get blood out of a dead body. That would be more difficult, and probably totally tasteless.

Gosh indeed! When you put it succinctly like that I feel like one of those activist shareholdersWhy aren't they called vampire investors since they are always calling for fresh bloodAnyway this is about them not me and I think it is time for a clear outAnd to cut the lawnMrC

Gosh: interesting

Are you basically saying we should only keep one of them beyond this time next year and start the clear-out straight away? Would you want Nigel Keen to stay on board after he stepped down as chair next year? Might be better if he did to reduce risk of him selling

Suspect it is too late for such a radical overhaul right now given AGM next week and you clearly have taken a personal aversion to Mr Cazalet! Would all be forgiven if he bought, say, £50,000 or more shares in the market?

BigTAfraid I can not get to London for the AGMOn the non-execs and purely to get the ball rolling1. Nigel Keen. Chair & largest shareholder. Been there far too long and got through over a handful of CEOs while seeing shares collapse. But at least he keeps buying shares so no great upside in taking risk of replacing him and causing a massive overhang if he sold in a grump2. Sir Duncan Nichol. Been on board far too long and is getting on a bit. But he has run NHS and must still be well connected even though the UK business is barely relevant. On balance there is a minimal case to keep him3. Mark Wippell. Retired lawyer with no other non-exec roles that I can see and has never run a business. Up for re-election this time. Can't imagine why and we would better off without him4. Chris Jones. Younger with large & small sector experience including marketing and American as well. Got to be a keeper if he is any good5. Julian Cazalet. On board for donkeys years. Long time retired stockbroker so in thrall to big institutions when company is owned and has been kept going by private investors. Chair of audit committee so instrumental in decision to waste management time changing to a low grade auditor. As rich as Midas but has not bought any shares for ages so clearly doesn't support the 'new' strategy. Was unpleasantly arrogant at EGM last year and borderline offensive to one shareholder who wanted to read out a statement. No idea what good he has done or could do. Would definitely be voting against if up for re-election this time but sadly isn'tSo, I would get rid of Cazalet and Wippell now, find a replacement for Nichol ASAP, think about announcing that Jones will take over as Chair at 2020 AGM and give Keen a year to get the price up to a level where he makes a stack of cash for himself and the rest of us recover most of our losses or make a bitWhy now? Because DEMG is cash positive, profitable and worth at least twice its current market value

mrC2u (9928) "Mr Keen also has four other non-executive directors to keep eight additional eyes on things"

Most spiders have eight eyes each. I infer that Mr. Keen is pleased to have the assistance of four NEDs who happen to be spiders.

The advantages of spiders are that they can creep into tiny corners inaccessible to other mortals (for example, fat auditors) and can sense vibrations, giving them advance warning of dangers or opportunities.

Also, spiders can dance on the ceiling.

Assume it it John Reilly topping up. Long may he continue. Would be interested to know who has been doing the selling over the last few weeks. Would be great to break through recent high of 1.6p.

I agree that one NED for every £1m of sales looks extravagant and that, if was right to reduce employee headcount by 40%, then they should certainly get rid of two of them just to show that they are all in it together

But which ones? Found your comment too cryptic and have no idea what a lifestyle passenger is

BigTQuite. Mr Keen also has four other non-executive directors to keep eight additional eyes on thingsWhich I suppose is a good thing but I am disappointed that they are not reducing from 5 non-execs to 3 at AGM. This would fit the reduced cost base and I have always thought at least two of them were lifestyle passengers who are never going to add any valueMrC

From my discussions with Andy, there is no doubt in my mind that the company is sustainably cash flow positive.

Nigel Keen has ethical standards....while Asil Nadir (the man behind Polly Peck) was sent to jail.

More good news, 10,000,000+ share options bought, is this Nigel Keen taking his holding to approx 15.5% of the company? Always a good sign when a Director buys into his company.
