Hi wipo1,

I agree with you.

I see a floor to these now as underlying trading and asset base is very sound.

Could be a bid target at these levels as all legacy problems have been resolved.

Good Post, John. I see what you mean by volatility, £5mln+ into the red effectively in one month. However as HVS states with £106 mln net cash it is manageable. Of course, I would agree it is very cheap at current levels but I do expect a test of £1. I know it shouldn't but that's financial markets for you, driven by fear and greed

Still looks a very good buy to me if 110p holds. I think the shares should still trade around at least 130p even with the pension problem.

Its manageable is all I can say.

DLTA is a very good recovery stock at these stupid levels.

The issue with the pension fund is not the current size of the deficit, but the huge size of the fund itself. This means that if actuarial assumptions changed for the worse (from DLTA's point of view), or there's a stock market slump, the deficit could rapidly become very large relative to DLTA's asset value. This fact adds volatility and uncertainty, and has made me for one very wary about investing in DLTA, in spite of its speciously attractive financial ratios.

Sorry, again pasted from Value thread(VAL) but wanted to participate in discussion here as I believe DLTA is beginning to look a real bargain-Note that DLTA's pension fund deficit increased from £0.2mln in March to £5.4mln as reported in July(I think figures were to April) However we are only talking about the equivalent of 3p per share

Sorry-copied and pasted from Value thread(VAL)-Delta(DLTA)currently trading around £1.20 could be at excellent buy at slightly lower levels with Net Working Capital of £1 with a good trading record, a decent dividend yield and a balance sheet stuffed with cash(I believe around half market Cap is covered by Co's cash)Generally a solid if unspectacular Company

Company share price has shown the propensity to bounce from current levels but maybe nervousness about finding suitable acquisitions to spend it's cash pile may spark a sell off. There certainly appears to be a few sellers around. I hope that "Arthur Lame Stocks" has something to say about this Company from reading it's thread as he is/was a shareholder. Undoubtably undervalued and cheap but as Investors will have noticed in these types of situations, share prices often get worse before they get better if for no other reason than stale bull liquidation deterring new Investors in a falling market

Hi HVS, yes widespread sell off, a lot might be market makers putting bogus AT trades to mark stocks down?

Does look good value for long term investors, nearly yielding 4%.

Hi wipo1,

Yeah cannot understand why price going down like this.

Think its shorters taking holders with stop losses out. I topped up and looking
to buy again when they settle.

The results will be out soon and trading statement was fine, so I am not worrying.

Lets see what happens.

Could it be anything to do with pensions oaverhang -

In last AGM statement reference made to a £650Million scheme being very large against the Company capitalisation. It makes one wonder if the Coy is being run for the benefit of the pensioners and not the shareholders.

Nothing wrong with this if the liabilities are there - but does one want to invest as a very highly geared play against tehpension fund and increased life expectancy.

Hi HVS, yeah strange price still going down - small caps out of favour. Take a look at TOT - a spin off company from Fyffes looks cheap 2008 p/e of 7.7.

Hi wipo1

Yup the news on pension fund is very good.

We should have a trading update soon at the AGM like you say and I am confident it will be positive.

This share is a GEM to be discovered. Have been accumulating as they say.

You too have a good week-end.
