02/8/2006 13:14 | Up 27.5p to a new all time high. 1132.5p mid price. | lundhousegreen
26/6/2006 08:34 | Out of interest, for ex-East Surrey shareholders, ESH are still doing well , results out today. | lundhousegreen
06/6/2006 18:09 | Tiny rise against the market. Let's hope NWG gives us a similar divi rise tomorrow. z | zeppo
06/6/2006 07:41 | Results out today... | lundhousegreen
02/6/2006 15:34 | On the subject of where to go next take a look at EUT European Utilities, share price is 19% discount to undiluted NAV, they pay a 3.6% dividend and have a BAA holding which is subject to takeover threats and offers from seemingly everywhere. | praipus
02/6/2006 15:30 | Conversely, very pleased they are up 22.5p today on small volumes. ;-)) Results next week? | lundhousegreen
17/5/2006 19:39 | Thanks S101. I still wonder why it dropped 52.5p, which for DVW is still a large drop on a couple of thousand sells today, although on the week, there appears to be more buys than sells. But I did find this article........ "Broker Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein upgraded the utilities sector from neutral to overweight. It complains the sector has been damaged by higher bond yields, but the reality is the higher yields feed into higher returns for regulated utilities, and few of them have US dollar exposure. The high yields they boast also makes them a defensive play should the market continue to weaken." | lundhousegreen
17/5/2006 14:32 | lhg - VERY lightly traded so price leaps around on any volume either way. Problem with a bid is that for most potential bidders it is too small to bother with. AFAIK the fact that it has pleanty of water does not meanm it can sell it to the dry south? | scribbler101
16/5/2006 19:07 | Many thanks Zeppo. The boys are never far wrong! LHG | lundhousegreen
16/5/2006 16:58 | lundhousegreen Martin does not see this dip as anything significant. At least NWG are firmer. z | zeppo
16/5/2006 12:20 | My thoughts exactly, and DVW would be well worth it. However, the take over rumours have been around for a long time. All IMHO.....If the rumours that SSE is looking at Thames Water are true it could start something... some utilities may want to 'keep up' (size-wise) or other companies may want to diversify into other 'safe' utilities using cash from the oil/gas price boom. Interesting times - even if SPs have been a bit depressing in the last few days! Ed: My small ISA buy his AM not showing on trades yet. Cheers john | one for the money
16/5/2006 12:06 | Thanks, John. Maybe a good opportunity for a prospective buyer to run the rule over them at this price?? | lundhousegreen
16/5/2006 11:37 | LHG Probably reaction to the news about 'drought orders' in the Southeast. Having worked in the industry, I can't see it really applying to DVW. Also people are flooding (!) into utilities this morning. ...so I thought this was a good opportunity to tuck a few more into my ISA! Which I have done. Cheers john | one for the money
16/5/2006 11:07 | Thought DVW would be a good defensive stock as the overall market drops/corrects, so wondering why it's down 52.5p currently? Anyone any ideas? TIA. LHG | lundhousegreen
15/2/2006 21:38 | High drama indeed, Scribbler101. Hope it doesn't become a habit. z | zeppo
15/2/2006 12:32 | Incidentally, the dramatic 10p fall today took place BEFORE the major sale of 5 shares, so was not caused by it! | scribbler101
11/2/2006 10:59 | Scribbler and Praipus Thank you for the suggestions. Both have some appeal. Our divis, based on our original investment, are excellent. I have sold two smaller batches of these, at a profit, in the past, however, and generally done well on the reinvestment. z | zeppo
10/2/2006 11:13 | Keep em IMHO just spend the dividend on ECWC or reinvest in DVW. | praipus
10/2/2006 01:30 | zeppo - dunno take out price. Bigger problem is to identify a buyer. Too tiny to be worth the bother for most. In your shoes I would be inclined to sell half and run the other half as a nil-cost investment. | scribbler101
09/2/2006 23:22 | Hi lundy & ygor This is our largest holding and has doubled for us. I make mistakes elsewhwre though. What is a take-out price? z | zeppo
19/1/2006 18:06 | LHG..............not sure why the share price has suddenly decided to move now save for general interest in the sector. I bought a block of NWG on Monday as the k factors look more favourable there and they are less stingy with the dividend increases That said DVW must get nailed before too long so it could be that somebody is running a slide rule over them. | ygor705
19/1/2006 11:37 | Dee Valley voting shares rising nicely +40p to £11 on the offer/ask this morning. | lundhousegreen
30/11/2005 11:42 | I always like the % return on revenue! | scribbler101
30/11/2005 07:05 | Interims... | lundhousegreen
11/11/2005 18:20 | Thanks Praipus........... will be well worth watching out for the next set of numbers. The k factor price increase is favourable between Apr 2005 and Apr 2006. | ygor705 |
