20/9/2008 19:11 | Do you really think that kind of dividend could be on the cards or would they use it for a serious buyback? | f1araway
20/9/2008 11:28 | Not too worried by falls. I see it as a race by the Aberdeen and BlackRock to get out of their holdings ASAP. With recent volatility in the markets they are obviously pushing a little harder on the downside in what they might accept. Taken advantage of the falls and picked up another 150k shares yesterday. Ready to pick up a whole lot more if they continue to spike lower. That could well happen in the next week or so if hedgies caught out by the market rally are forced to reduce exposure elsewhere. Still expecting good news on the strategic review front. Im not sure a full blown disposal of the portfolio is on the cards due to market conditions. I would expect them to announce a large number of disposals though. A large share buyback or a special dividend should follow. Yield is currently over 20% to keep me happy in the meantime. | nickcduk
19/9/2008 18:11 | why the strange trading-is this going bust it looks like it-management truly appalling | salver2
19/9/2008 17:35 | The manipulation continues........... | f1araway
18/9/2008 16:09 | Insider knowledge my friend but crazy stuff nevertheless. | f1araway
18/9/2008 15:09 | What the blazes is going on here? | crawford
12/9/2008 10:36 | this was one of the reasons i bought them that and the valuations were cheap compared to uk property-they blew a lot of cash with share buy bacjks at more than 3 times current prices-their loan to value ratio is not too healthy-thanks for your update nickcduk | salver2
12/9/2008 10:22 | salver2 - German property market isn't as volatile as the UK market and is still in reasonable health. Plenty of German institutional buyers around looking for income. With many German leases tied to indexation the rental growth would also look attractive in the current climate. | nickcduk
12/9/2008 10:18 | nickcduk, I think the probability of news is high, here is part of the reply I got from the company a week or so ago - I asked about the strategic review: "We will be updating shareholders at the time of the announcement of interim results, which is due towards the end of September. We will give an update sooner if there is any material news to report" | crawford
12/9/2008 10:15 | who are they going to sell to in this climate -hold a lot of these shares but management seem to be fairly incompetent -we shall have to wait and see | salver2
12/9/2008 10:07 | UK property stocks have been very strong this week. Sector looks like its coming back into favour with rate cuts likely next year. The likes of DTR should really be bouncing even harder considering how heavily they have been sold off. Not particularly happy that results are out so late. I hope that they are late because they are still finalising a few sales and will therefore have good news to report. DDE were supposed to be reporting today but I imagine will now be reporting on Monday. Will be interesting to see if they have achieved a few sales and whether the shares will bounce. If they do then it might spread some good sentiment over to DTR ahead of results. | nickcduk
12/9/2008 09:49 | Steady rise this morning. | crawford
05/9/2008 11:45 | Nice move up today. Could be that the overhang has cleared or else a bit of nosy buying ahead of results. Not sure the rise will last though. Volume isn't particularly heavy and any potential seller could trash the price in an instant. Nice respite from the falls though. | nickcduk
05/9/2008 10:23 | Bought a second lot yesterday to average 0.3. | jdhurry
05/9/2008 07:09 | nickcduk, Agreed, I've been told to expect an update at results, if not sooner which would indicate that they are working on deals. | crawford
04/9/2008 21:56 | Ive been adding a few more yesterday and today. Obviously disappointing that the share price is being trashed. My view on DTR hasn't changed though. There is very deep value in DTR around current levels. Aberdeen have been dumping stock indiscriminately for a while now. Their motives for doing so remain unknown. I am not reading too much into it though. Their track record in DTR is hardly worth shouting about when you consider they purchased stock in the IPO and are nursing heavy losses. The overhang shouldn't be too far from being cleared. Heavy volume today probably knocked a few more million out of their hands. Results are due in the next couple of weeks. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they are working through disposals at present. That would explain the delay in results. It's not nice watching losses mount up but I am pretty sure we will be rewarded in due course. | nickcduk
04/9/2008 17:43 | they better hurry up or theyll be nothing left!!! | salver2
04/9/2008 13:47 | salver2, the company is going to update the market regarding their strategic review with the results. I think they are working behind the scenes so we just have to be patient. | crawford
04/9/2008 08:24 | i think this co has a lot of explaining to do-the market clearly thinks the stock is worthless-strategic review has halved the share price -well done management-oh how undervalued we are at 1 euro a share lets launch a share buyback blow our cash blab on about strong fundementals -bring mr manfred maus on board who has this great experience-and destroy shareholder value!!! | salver2
03/9/2008 16:04 | Results out at end of month, I look forward to the company explaining what's going on. | crawford
03/9/2008 12:19 | MontpelierInvestment Management LLP increasing their stake. | crawford
02/9/2008 15:24 | Strange that Aberdeen are still selling with the shares so cheap. Hope they don't know something we don't! I hope they don't waste money on buybacks. Until recently I thought buybacks by Investment Trusts/Investment Companies trading at big discounts was a good idea for obvious reasons, eg paying 30p or whatever to get £1. But Dolphin Capital spent £20 million on buybacks, and all that achieved was a mere 6p increase in NAV. With the shares at such a huge discount, 6p is neither here nor there, and the money could have been much better spent or not spent. That they spent £20 million for shares worth £31 million also doesn't mean much as what other than that 6p NAV effect have they got for that £20 million? Hope the results soon don't provide reasons for the recent falls and the Aberdeen selling. The shares look so cheap. | kenmitch
02/9/2008 13:52 | New all time low today, I didn't think it would go this low, what a basket case. | crawford
02/9/2008 12:25 | Aberdeen are dumping and have been for months. If the buyer stands aside then it ends up trashing the share price as it has done. Negative press regarding German retail sales isn't helping sentiment at present. That and the lack of news on the strategic review are the prime culprits. Results due out in the next couple of weeks should help clarify the situation. Am fairly relaxed and looking to add. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a few disposals to announce in a couple of weeks. Possible share buy backs or cash return should follow. | nickcduk
02/9/2008 12:07 | Who knows? Didn't expect the trend to continue. Waiting to see the next holdings notices... | jdhurry |
