FB - For copyright reasons I will just post a precis of the contents -

Berenberg says that Darktrace trades at 3.2x current year 2024 embedded value/sales, a 70% discount to its US peer group despite growth marginally above the peer group average.
It has reported an above-expectations first-half 2024 update.
Berenberg's view is that that there is clear opportunity for an upward rerating and has a target price of 600p on the stock.

Could be interesting when the shorters run for cover.

Looks like testing 300p support then 250p as Headwinds ahead.

Too Risky at these artificial levels.
No USP products only basic stuff OEM's do.

More Lows to come...so How Low How Soon?

DARK stated....a decline of (21.6)% compared to the same quarter of FY 2023. Most ARR additions continue to come from the acquisition of new customers; Darktrace added a SMALL 126 out of nearly 9,000!!

The key is the size and ARPU which is decreasing!!! Hence be aware as RISKS HIGH with Lows to be tested.

DARK falls back to test 300p as analysts drill into the results details..

Risks are still ahead be aware. Some expect 250p to be tested before a serious upturn..as profit takers move in.

Some say Too Risky at these levels...

"Some people who pop up on here from time to time have no idea what they're doing, and no idea how to spot anything, other than being spoon fed some short seller nonsense. Occasionally they get lucky but more often than not...not"Is that aimed at me? Ironic given I'm a long-term holder.

So many nibbles in the last hour. Full disclosure, I'm a holder and very pleased with the update and last couple of days' price moves. My post was a dog at those who put down the company for no reason. No wonder the trolls are so persistent when you lot are so easy to wind up.

Cathy Graham, CFO of Darktrace, said:

"Following the roll-out of significant Go-to-Market changes that impacted performance in our first quarter, we were very pleased to see the resulting benefits play out in our strong second quarter financial performance. Today's results, along with continued acceleration in top and mid-funnel prospect engagement across our key partner and large strategic customer segments, support our belief that we are seeing a return to positive and sustainable growth and reinforces our view of first half stabilisation and second half re-acceleration. We are pleased to be able to make the resulting upward revisions to our full year ARR, revenue and profitability guidance as well as reduce risk associated with achieving second half financial targets.

Our strong margins and cash position enable us to continue making smart investments in our future product pipeline, Go-to-Market strategy, and business foundations. Looking forward, we expect to emerge from a period of relative market uncertainty in an even stronger position, and well-placed to capitalise on the large market opportunity for our AI-powered cyber security products as attackers capitalise on the availability of increasingly sophisticated tools and tactics, including generative AI."

Quite striking the amount of negativity posted towards this share. I’ll take that as a positive, as well as of course the sectoral positives working in its favour.

Let's see if MoneyWeek's predictions come true or not ...Extracts...: "Cybersecurity is also expected to continue to be a big issue in 2024 as the trend towards AI grows, which Barringer says could benefit security companies such as Darktrace and Palo Alto. "We expect to see another step up in cyber-attacks which underpins sustained strength in the cyber software market" adds Barringer."Https://moneyweek.com/investments/top-stocks-for-the-new-year

Email recd from the company yesterday:Thank you for your support of Darktrace. You are right there is no company news out that would lead to such a volatile share price move. A couple observationsOn Tuesday evening Darktrace announced that our CTO sold 0.5m shares of Darktrace, the news can be found here https://ir.darktrace.com/regulatory-news/2023/12/19/1743506. But worth noting that on Wednesday (the following day!) the stock was actually up. So it would be unusual for a delayed reaction to that news to hit on ThursdayI heard from a bank this morning that someone (not a company person, so has to be investor) tried to sell 1 million shares in the opening auction (before market opens) and in the run up to xmas when volumes are low that will always have a negative impact on the shares. Bottom line – you are right there is no fundamental news from the co to drive this share price move. As everyone knows, Darktrace will next deliver a trading update in mid January. BestLuk

Cybersecurity firm Darktrace dropped 6.99%, with speculation arising that this decline could be related to Mike Lynch selling stock, potentially to fund his US fraud trial.
