Each company has a NMS- Normal Market Size. The NMS for Danka is 3000 shares. There are however marketmakers that will deal in a larger size. Your broker should be able to sort things out for you. Nothing to do with the stock that the dealers have.

I hold 18128 dnk shares and have an account with barclays that i have just started to use again.I put in to sell all my shares just to see what commision i would have to pay(never intending to sell)and was told the trade was above the limit and it was rejected.Does this mean mm's have enought stock?
Someone help me on this please.

EK...no I worry about losses not missed profits.....you would go mad if you did, it is the nature of the beast....plus I have made over 10% on Isys and I am in profit on CKSN so it all evens out....

Also remember I have returned over 1000% on this stock having sold at the top, so I am carrying no paper losses, with no need to average down or stick with it through thick and thin...

Backlash sets in over pension fund short selling

Man Group, the world's biggest hedge fund manager, was marked sharply lower yesterday as concerns mounted over a backlash against short selling from the pension fund industry.

The shares fell 14p to £10.53.5 after it emerged that Dutch pension fund managers ABP and PGGM, which manage assets of more than £130 billion, will no longer lend stock to hedge funds in an attempt to smooth market volatility.

Short selling - when hedge funds sell borrowed stock on the assumption that prices will fall and they can repay lenders with cheaper shares - has been widely criticised for fuelling wild swings in prices and destabilising markets.

The move by the Dutch managers sparked fears that other pension funds will follow, turning off the taps on a highly profitable activity for hedge funds in bear markets. Institutions were also said to have been booking profits from Man and switching into fund managers with a higher exposure to equities as markets surged.

Reckon this will be good for Danka!

IKN/XRX Post-earnings run up!

It's been about 1 week now since IKN and XRX both reported good earnings. Since then, IKN has moved up about 30% and XRX about 40%. Am looking forward to something similar with DANKY, thank you.
