29/5/2002 11:17 | Morning Friends, Good to see ask price around 60p. SP, IMO the reason DNK can't take a lead: 1. The shares amount is four times than ADR but 2. Less investors/traders have interest because Danka in UK is not as that popular as in US 3. Not suitable for investors with stop-loss criteria so many share-clubs do not like it because they must adopt stop-loss criteria as they can't sit together quite often to make "sell" decision. They can do stop-loss after the share price went up but many clubs do not meet based on price movement because the meet just to socialize. Share-club do not invest big money but can help a stock to be more popular. 4. Danka PR and the house broker (HSBC?) are not active enough to introduce Danka share. Good to have the same recent CC if Danka head office in UK can hold for institutions in The City. So basicly what I am saying is that DNK floated more shares in UK but not enough traders/investors and money to trade in & out comparing in US. IMO. | oaklandsway
29/5/2002 11:06 | SP The biggest market always sets the prices and in Danka the US is five times the UK. (The percentage of the shares held as ADSs (ie in US market) has risen from 80% at 31/8/01 to 86% at 31/3/02) | ![]() zulu001

29/5/2002 10:36 | FF Agree entirley with your post 4392. However, why can we not take the bull (no ramp intended), by the horns and make the running in the UK. How could it be done? - by not over reacting to US market. Although smaller, SKP does it. | serious punter

29/5/2002 10:23 | SP, looks like there has been a slow turn around in sentiment over the past days. | ![]() blockbuy
29/5/2002 10:22 | Its all a question of fair value..... and for that to be found you have to have two points of view......both bullish and bearish.......what you are suggesting is a market that caters for positive sentiment only...... An over valued market is damaging for a company as it raises investor expectations and forces companies into expensive aquisitions to reach the ever increasing growth targets...... Danka is vunerable to large swings in sentiment due to the fact it is in the early stages of a recovery which makes it very difficult to value......investors buying in at this level are betting on the recovery being maintained....invest Whether the share is 40p or 80p will not effect the every day running of the company.... | ![]() forfaiter
29/5/2002 10:18 | SP I agree with what you say, my post above explains the reason to an extent. The UK is full of computer literate people who have come to expect easy money from share trading as a result of the bubble late '99 early 2000. Typically these people do not have what it takes to be investors. They are traders. They follow they do not lead. Follow news or whatever-sheep basically, with no steely resolve to hold a share. They trade and then move on. | ![]() millionaire

29/5/2002 10:09 | I'm probably going to get slaughtered for my next comment, but the responses should be interesting. I've been following DANKY/DNK for quite some time. What I cannot fathom is why the UK maket are slaves to the US market. Come about 11:00 to 11:30 every day, DNK goes into hibernation until the Nas opens. Why do we take our lead from the US market. We've all seen the results, CC, various RNSs/AFXs, surely we over here, can make up our own minds. On several occassions (oaklandsway can probably count even more), we have lead the way with DNK. Why are we slaves to the US. The initial fall from 80+ seemed to be triggered by 1 x 100k short, DANKY went down a few cents, uk had a heart attack - why? - the fundementals and facts hadn't changed? Today, IMHO, we should be retracing our steps back up, because a) the RSI indicates DANKY/DNK is grossly over sold, a double bottom has occured and its prices are well under fair value. Yesterday according to I-Watch, 61% was institutional interest and a buying day at that. Institutions per se, have increased their holdings substantially over the past year - we've seen data supporting these facts here on this bb. OK I've got it off my chest. Awaiting your hammering :0) | serious punter
29/5/2002 10:04 | ff Why knock a company and make up spurious statements about its future when you have no interest in the company. Why play on investors doubts? Why not play on their hopes? All companies rely on news, be it good or bad, to survive and adapt strategy. What is the point of damaging a companies future for a few pounds? Shorting activity has brought many of the worlds economies to their knees as people are no longer prepared to invest in the future. Like it or not technology dictates the future and the way we live. Progress is being stifled by this nervousness. Shorters are the Judas' of the modern age. | ![]() millionaire
