forfaiter, your observation is correct, but as it is always with technical analysis, some leway is claimed here. lets wait and see, with the benefit of hindeside we would be the wiser, but not necessarily the richer!

Other buyers buy at other times, there was a small (in % terms) but significant in volume and price movement burst of institutional buying last month immediately two analyst research reports were published (see this thread around 18th March).

Interesting that you have split wave 4 and 5 into 1 month as opposed to 1 month for each of the other waves....especially as the three important aspects of the wave theory are....pattern, ratio and time..

Which if the Elliott theory applies then May should produce a rising wave 5.....

zulu, interesting, it would however follow that the begining of rising waves only be associated with the the begining of each calander month ?

Beginning and end of each month alignment may be because that is when employees (in general not just Danka employees) have cash to invest (and in a stock rising like Danka they invest as soon as they can).

Those wishing to find out more background information about Danka will find lots in this filing:

having admired this stock for a while, i now find myself in a situation where i must pause to think! is this stock doing the classic elliot wave stuff. just look at this:

wave 1 - eginning of jan to end of jan
wave 2 - beginning of feb to end of feb
wave 3 - beginning of march to end of march
wave 4 - beginning of april to mid april
wave 5 - mid april to now, end of april.

it is interesting how these waves seem to line up exactly with the beginning and ends of each month commencing jan this year!

if it is a cas of elliot wave being applicable here, then the next phase will be the corrective, down trending, waves a,b and c.

this stock now merits close scrutiny against these down trends if they are to materialise. added to this is the fact that this stock is now quite top heavy having risen so well of late. thsoe sitting on handsome profits may wish to pocket some at this juncture.

Jimmy,
81.68 is the answer too your ? that's exact. so mm's still f--------- us about. To do it yourself divide the $ price of danky by 4 and then by 1.463 or what ever the exchange rate is at that time. 4.75*4*1.463=81.68.

don't forget the dollar fell to a six month low yesterday $1.4635 which is probably contributing to the excessive markdown today

I don't think we are on a multiple of 5.818 DNK to one DANKY any longer

Anyone care to calculate the the new value - don't have time

Ta

Luckily sold a few at 81.50p this morning. Still long and strong but sometimes its worth getting up early in the morning. Hopefully shove it all back in and then some anyway!

I agree with you PB1.I have held for over a year in at 16.5p so am sitting on a nice profit. My wife wanted me to sell at 34p but i held on and have more than doubled since, after all I wear the trousers(well sometimes)and I think how a lot of people must feel after selling when the share drops a little only to see it rise twice as much after about a week.To all thinking of selling have faith. Results just round the corner.dyor

MMs will tree shake today, I just hope people don't bail out because as always with DNK rollercoater, it'll bounce back. I will be topping up on any dips today :0)

Forfaiter - I agree with you that the MM's in the U.K were fully expecting a retracement yesterday and therefore did not bother to stay in line with the U.S. for the 2hour afternoon session yesterday. To tell you the truth it was a smart move or we would have seen a 3p drop this morning - that would have shaken the roots not just the branches. Difficult to call the next day or so as although there is no doubt that the upward trend will continue we may see another day of sideways movement or maybe a small dip. It always amazes me how quickly people are willing to sell at the slightest sign of a small drop - the Yanks are the worst for this, some of them dip in and out of this share for a 10c dip, I guess it's because they can trade so much more cheaply and that they often only have a 1 or 2c spread. Anyway I'm staying long as I see nothing to suggest that this share is going nowhere but UP.! IMHO
