Hi, anybody know whether Tom Cross is going to stay working with Dana post the Korean takeover or move into happy retirement? Thanks

Sad times, bomfin....and we never saw Dana's stocking-tops, although the KNOC hostilities prised a glimpse of white flesh above the knees :-)

They said 14 days? At least with this lot there should be no excuses about the dog having eaten them....

re 13560 - don'k much of Buxtons views on companies - the only ones worth as I see it are those with global reach not reliant on the UK with its dreadful job and industrial situation. Having said that the UK industrial situation looks good on paper but then oil is part of the industrial output but that doesn't employ the millions who need full timne jobs to make UK market only companies cash generative (TSCO etc apart). Can't get my head round the iPod maker Foxtel - 300,00 workers on one site! I thought GEC Telephone Works Coventry at 25K in its heyday was big - now a housing estate; there again maybe Buxtons right on Builders - UK is progressivley becoming a housing estate still even there cash needed and with Gov speding £5 for every £4 it gets in and workers jobs under threat that too doesn't sound too bullish.

Ironically The Telegraph is today recommending 'sell' since £18 is such a good price (well, relative to a not best timed tip) while running a feature that the oil price is set to soar and it is high time private investors look for good risk/reward means to get exposure.

Tullow mentioned, but not the possibility a slug of its assets could yet be sold elsewhere by the Ugandans.

My mistake re JLP - the ADVFN quote function says they are listed on the LSE....which isn't actually quite accurate in this case. Side issue for here of course!

JLP not full listed they are an AIM stock. They can be held in an ISA because they are also listed in Joberg.

Agreed £18 is a good deal and Dana's board trying to get more risked the koreans shelving the whole thing - it was a risky strategy given the absence of the white knight - in at £11.40 out at £18 happy with that- markets look pretty toppy anyway.

JLP has a full listing!
I know that some AIM stocks are ISAable - but ONLY if they ALSO have an overseas listing (like GBP for example)

Buxton continues to get a pasting (not from me) in the Citywire comments, re. UK equity strategy, which appears to reflect the uncertainty surrounding what to do with cash currently. Article again republished:
