13/3/2024 11:15 | I'm not interested in a takeover not at the prices mentioned anyway. With Assets of £1.82BN that gives a price more than double the present, and with the future looking bright i'm looking into the future for a lot bigger rise. In 2008 around the financial collapse CURY was worth 30p 2 years later 180p a x6 gain 5 years later 273p a x9 gain 6 years later 461p a x15 gain, and went even higher later. The economy wasn't in really good shape then, but currys knows how to pull things around. I'm not saying that we will ever see these prices again but current prices are on the very low side historically. And the economy has had quite a big boost these last three months, especially for hard working and hard spending people. personally I would prefer to be in here for the long haul. DYOR and don't take much notice of the dogs. CURY made a profit of £119m last year, have net assets at least double the present value. (I can do boring repeats as well of REAL FACTS) | schofi2
13/3/2024 09:48 | Re: " NO irrevocable and binding Offers to buy Currys are on the table today" Just to clarify: are any bids for any companies ever irrevocable and binding Offers? I dont know how a bid process works... Do they become "irrevocable and binding" when both sides agree to the deal or is it when they have actually signed some legal document? Or paid the cash? Thanks for any info... | netcurtains

13/3/2024 09:32 | Yep - Dont follow me! It screws up my thinking. Its a timing thing. If you buy AFTER me and sell AFTER me then most like you have done it wrong - it has to be the exact same time or its not really following its a separate investment. And most times it does not work.. The very nature of FOLLOWING means you are not following in the sense you hope... So dont follow anyone UNLESS you are making a long term investment where the timing is not important.... I guess solarno might be thinking of the well known road haulage company that has just got taken over..... I totally missed the boat on that - although I was in it for quite a while.. There was a right down of goodwill but that was not a money or operational loss.
