28/10/2016 11:55 | Windy He will be like the Pied Piper his clients will just follow | hillofwad
28/10/2016 07:09 | hxxp://www.propertyi Morning Campers. Is this another example of Platt,s pruning of deadwood or another time seved seasoned professional leaving taking with him a clutch of clients .What yardstick did she use to determine that "he wasnt quite up to it "- her long experience gained in the private medical field Clearly the senior property prosessionals at the highy successful Arun Group had a different opinion! | hillofwad
27/10/2016 17:42 | Windy Its a crying shame that jobs are lost .Just another example of how this company has been mismanaged Overpaid for good brands and savaged them .It cant be a good place to be for their able negotiaters wondering where the axe will randomly fall next in some desperate attempt to reduce costs .I agree the shorters have got stuck in and the share price fall over the last month or so has surprised me with it severity .Should settle for a bit in the 180s before continuing south again If you have been topping up at his level I hope that it spikes up for a bit so you can get off the train with something This has still along way to drop | hillofwad
27/10/2016 16:00 | hill arrr so its the share price that floats your boat, now here was me thinking you were concerned about those employees losing their jobs. the share price is down on 250k of sells, that indicates its just shorters making a few quid I will be buying at every 10p drop the business is the same today as it was last week. WJ. | w1ndjammer
27/10/2016 15:40 | Already holed under the 180p water line .Nightmare on Elm Street | hillofwad
26/10/2016 13:38 | Windy Draw your own conclusions disgruntled ex employee or saying it like it is . She certainly hasnt stood back changing policy Give work to a busy person as they say thats why she has taken on a role for Tesco Maybe she forgets which hat she is wearing "Lets do retail" .Windy if you think her actions have waved a magic wand and revenue and profits will be increasing accordingly -only time will tell .I wouldnt want to be holding here to find out | hillofwad
26/10/2016 13:26 | hill the first line second paragraph says it all WJ. | w1ndjammer
26/10/2016 13:22 | ho dear another ex employee I think she is doing a stela job, talked for 60 mins without notes and answered all questions comprehensibly. she is obviously deeply involved with the business not just watching from the sidelines. With the package CWD are offering all these do it yourself agents will be blown out of the water. WJ. | w1ndjammer
26/10/2016 12:59 | The very highly paid CEO (will be extremely interesting to see what bonus she's granted this year) is starting to receive a lot of verbal bricks on social media for her (apparently totally unsuccessful) policy to regard house agency as being as easy as selling a mobile phone. However, the plc board appears to have sat back and watched debt also being built to high levels, buying a series of disparate businesses around the UK, without any intervention and are probably equally culpable-although she is probably the one that will sooner or later be told to leave (with of course, a big golden goodbye).Whether that same seemingly ineffectual board can recruit anyone in the U.K. to captain a ship that is now firmly "on the rocks" remains to be seen. | tarrant777
26/10/2016 11:20 | hill the industry is changing CWD are getting ahead of the game, if you do not modernise you risk ending up like YELL the new platforms they are introducing is the key, staff need to be more flexible, the ambitious ones will thrive the others will just fall by the wayside. WJ. | w1ndjammer
26/10/2016 08:50 | hxxp://www.propertyi Supertanker hitting the rocks Imagine what the closureof the 50 offices has done to staff morale | hillofwad
25/10/2016 16:35 | Should at least pause for breath at these levels before it continues south but got to take my hat off to you boys chasing the yield!!and trying to average down | hillofwad
25/10/2016 16:14 | back onboard at 185p lets see where this goes WJ. | w1ndjammer
25/10/2016 16:02 | Analysts are definitely worth their six figure salaries! | salpara111
25/10/2016 13:06 | Jeffries new target at 180p from 300p !!! | hillofwad
24/10/2016 12:10 | Well, the only thing you can say with any certainty is that the closure of 60 branches is going to lead to a multi million pound exceptional cost. They are going to exit the FTSE 350 unless they get a hell of a bounce in the next 6 weeks so overall the share price will remain under pressure. Personally I feel that we have reached a bottom point in terms of housing market turnover but I have taken some LSL instead. | salpara111
22/10/2016 06:45 | Arja Well done but what you might not know is that there might have been buyer/.buyers out there prepared for various reasons which arent revealed by a quick trawl around Zoopla/Rightmove to pay that little bit more . The market moves very quickly and historic transactions dont necessarily mean todays price . Maybe some money was paid off contract for" fixtures and fittings" to bring it down below the stamp duty threshold That of course works both ways The real local agent might already know who they are when he came for the inspection who might have bid the price up dwarfing any savings on fees Purplebricks have 8 on in my patch 3 have been on over a year? As a potential buyer I would be slightly wary of buying off a seller like Purpelbricks maybe totally wrong but my first thouight that the vendor might be difficult to deal with as they have already demonstrated by the chep selling option that they are looking to extract as much out of the deal as they can possibly can Im sure Ih _ can vouch for this but how many times ha someone come in to an estate agents with a fixed ideas saying they want such a such house in such a such area at such a such price The agent works the oracle and highlights a total different proposition which they hadnt considered before and ends up buying | hillofwad

21/10/2016 14:23 | Sounds like you were lucky - that is certainly not the norm! Local experts? Yeah sure | ih_522310
21/10/2016 14:03 | horrific chart even though a slight rally recently . It surprises me that online agents still only have about 5% market share and I sold my house a year ago with one and only paid £500 in total saving me over £2000. People are so indoctrinated into using High Street agents that it might take some years before things change much . I got excellent service and MUCH BETTER than I got from High Street agents in the past . | arja
21/10/2016 12:38 | Agree. How's the auctions going? | ih_522310
21/10/2016 12:25 | Maybe .She certainly hasnt earned her spurs .If thats the case she has only just put in place her "Building for the Future " so if there are any "synergies" they havent had chance to bed in yet .Presumably the BODS would have endorsed her new policies She only announced the office closures last month You would have thought they would give her to the spring to see how allthe change have panned out but maybe market noise which must now be deafening might hasten her departure sooner rather than later I agree a new CEO would of course raise expectations and maybe boost the share price but long term I dont think they are going to be able to reduce the debt mangebale or otherwise-damage done | hillofwad
21/10/2016 12:04 | Platt leaving? Takeover? Not sure, but something is brewing thats for sure! Reminds me very much of RTN a few months back. Same type of accumulation occurred there whilst the share price dropped. And before you know it the reason for the hedgy accumulation became clear - CEO was replaced. By the time that was announced the share price was up 50%. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Platts about to get the sack. That would certainly explain the accumulation over the past couple of months by those in the know. BTW Google finance says 8.49. | ih_522310 |
