RE mr men they are already starting to weace their
magic, local school starting to push childrens
books, children are taking a book home every night
and the books they are pushing are the mr men.

Also received a letter the other month re
childrens allowance info from the government,
every parent I believe received one, and on the
envelope there was a picture of one of the mr men.

Looks like lord ali's friendship with blair is
coming of for us COR shareholders.

I feel this stock has a way to go

don't forget that in July Noddy starts to show on TV in USA and Japan and other Asian countries, COR already has licensing partners(and good one's too) in all these areas ,the potential for royalties here is MASSIVE .

Noddy and Agatha Christie are worldwide brands that despite peep's sceptisism go from strength to strength in expanding global markets and the decision to release noddy programmes as language learning media programmes is a coup IMHO.

If they weave the same magic into Mr men and Little Miss then this is a real cash machine.

It will be interesting to see the press tomorrow-there WILL be a lot!! and also I expect to see a nice rise in the next few days following the analyst update which hyas only just started.

COR has had some nice Institutional support and is on a rip and I expect that to carry on

:-)

Jam tommorrow a bit I think, but depends on forecasts. If they were going to substantially exceed forecasts this year on the basis of the various licensing developments then fair enough.

Hmm. Basic earnings per share 7.1p (6.8p), up 4.4%.

Adjusted earnings per share (pre goodwill amortisation) 12.4p (11.9p), up 4.20%.

No dividend.

OK, I suppose, but is this really such a 'stunning' performance, and does it justify a historic PE of 25 and a prospective PE of 18-20?

SUPER results

all guns blazing and further strong growth in all divisions seems assured , share price movement will depend on Institutions.

For me-every reason to stay and hold and may add depending on response , analyst meeting could be interesting and COR are good at milking press so EXPECT to see NODDY everywhere for a day or two

following is a good summary

well pleased :-)

Chorion posted a 35% increase in pretax profit for the year to December 31st 2004 to £4.3m.

This compares with £3.2m a year earlier. The company reported experiencing strong growth in the period.

Turnover grew 28.5% to £23.9m and operating profit was up 38% to £4.8m from £3.5m in 2003, reflecting a 'stunning' performance by the Children's business, the group said.

It also announced today that ITV has doubled its order for new Agatha Christie television films.

The increase follows the group's success with four Poirot films made in 2003, and four new Marple films in December 2004.

Chorion will now make eight Agatha Christie films in 2005, with a minimum of six of them to be delivered this year and two early in 2006.

Later in 2006, a minimum of a further four films will be delivered. The precise split between Marple and Poirot films has yet to be decided by the broadcaster.

Chairman Waheed Alli said the board looks forward to additional growth across the business driven by the development of the existing portfolio, and the acquisition of classic entertainment brands and content.

Over the coming year, the group said it will see further significant growth in Noddy.

It will also add to the future potential of the children's business with Mr Men going into full production and with the selection of a second children's property that will also go into production in 2005.

In other areas of the business Chorion said it will extend its profitable direct involvement in UK television and partwork activities.

The board said Chorion has 'a strong and exciting future'.

No dividend was paid for the year as the group said it is using funds to invest, both in the further development of Chorion's classic brands and in the acquisition of new branded content. It said it will nevertheless keep this policy under regular review.

Over the past week there's been some heavyweight selling of Chorion going on and a 30K line has just gone through. Do the institutions know something we don't? Seems strange that selling like this is going on just before the results on Wednesday. Anyone aware of any negatives that might come out this week?

agreed Bingo

My 13 year old daughter and her mates still think Little Miss products are trendy-especially in the stationary area

Mr Men and Little Miss are actually potentially a BIGGER brand than old Noddy ...but need careful nuturing and licensing , it appears that COR management are doing a super job(OK hands up I was their biggest critic a while back)

One thing COR are good at is hype and publicity and we will get a lot of both in a few days with finals.

By the way the Noddy Stadium show appeared at Cardiff International Arena - the weekend before last and drew superb crowds of adoring fans who I am told bought a LOT of merchandise

waytogo here :-)

cheers

Morning peeps - just to say was at Master Investor on the weekend and Mark Slater had this down as one of his top 5 shares to keep an eye on. Would not be surprised if the rise this morning is down to a few of those who i observed scribbling down his every word, dipping into the market for a few COR!

One of the interesting things that Mark pointed out was that with regards to Mr Men merchandising, until COR took over the property, only 8% of reveune from merchandising came from the children's market. I think this give you some idea of how badly focued the Mr Men brand was prior to its purchase. And, if COR can do with Mr Men what it has done with Noddy, then this really is a share to watch.

Chorion and Five co-produce 100 new Noddy episodes

"Say it with Noddy" to debut in UK and USA

London. Wednesday, 02 March 2005 -- Chorion plc (LSE: COR) and British
terrestrial television network, Five, today unveiled "Say it with Noddy", a new
animated co-production which aims to introduce pre-school children to new
languages and cultures.

The 100 x 2-minute CGI-animated series, which is scheduled to premiere in the UK
at the turn of the year, will feature familiar words and phrases children may
hear in other languages in their own communities.

In the UK, "Say it with Noddy" will feature five languages: French, Spanish,
Mandarin, Swahili and Urdu. The programme, however, has been specifically
designed to allow broadcasters in other countries to showcase different
languages of their own choosing.

Each episode can also be broadcast either as a standalone programme in its own
right or as a companion to "Make Way for Noddy", the popular CGI animated series
that follows the adventures of Noddy and his Toyland friends. "Say it with Noddy
" will begin airing in the United States on national public broadcaster PBS in
July.

Additionally, the format opens up new opportunities for Noddy licensees in
video, publishing, multimedia, online, merchandising and promotions.

Today's announcement enhances the ongoing relationship between Chorion and Five,
which has been the home of Noddy in the UK since 2002 and ensures a continued
and consistent broadcast platform for the Noddy brand.

"Make Way for Noddy" has been a cornerstone of Five's early morning Milkshake
programming bloc since September 2002 and has re-established the little boy with
the tinkling hat, created by Enid Blyton, as a must-have property. The series
today airs in more than 100 markets around the world and has become one of the
UK's biggest television exports.

Nicholas James, Chief Executive of Chorion PLC said:

"Chorion's proven ability to add value to classic brands, coupled with the
global potential for character-led early learning, make me confident that "Say
it with Noddy" will be a big hit around the world. I am especially delighted by
Five's involvement as a co-production partner. The network's commitment to Noddy
has been a critical factor in transforming him into one of the most powerful
pre-school home entertainment brands."

Five's Controller of Children's Programming, Nick Wilson, said:

"Make Way for Noddy" has been a tremendous hit for us and remains a cornerstone
of our pre-school programming strand Milkshake. Using Noddy to help pre school
children experience new languages is a powerful extension of Milkshake's
ambitions to not only entertain but stimulate and educate its young audience.
I'm sure soon most of the nation's pre school children will learn to "Say it
With Noddy"."
