base7 and others all the last RNS said was "It is our intention to reinstate an interim FY24 dividend of 0.25 pence to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 26 July 2024 and to be paid on 23 August 2024."

Note an "intention" is not a "certainty".

Remember "the Board has agreed to suspend the FY24 interim dividend previously announced on 11 December 2023."

So they had previous said they would pay a interim dividend, they suspended it all the same but to be fair they did say the hoped to pay a full year dividend.

However their intentions and their actions are now to be questioned, as they should have said - we will be pay a dividend of 0.25p instead all they said is they "intend" to pay.

Things changed before and may do so again, so do not assume things they have not said.

Under our new Ceo we have seen a re set in that he took the prudent view to defer the dividend when announcing that business has slowed down in Jan.The fact that he reinstated 0.25p on announcing the update last week should be viewed optimistically as Lance has already demonstrated a prudent streak & has rationalised & reorganised & sounds confident that the results of his actions are now being seen.If when Finals are announced later this year he recommends a Final of 0.25/0.35,the total will be 0.5/0.6( lower than it has been but still yielding 5% based on current prices)& I presume he will only pay it if he considers we can afford it & it would provide confirmation that FY25 has started positively.
as we have seen in the past, there will always be scope for good value bolt on acquisitions at attractive prices(sometimes based on businesses failing or owner families being keen to exit) which can be absorbed into our existing facilities & it would be a pity to miss any such opportunities which could well arise over the coming months.
Cru is unlikely to ever multi bag & depending on our purchase price but a 5% yield & the possibility of a return to 20p+ makes this a hold for me

I would welcome a reset here with the annual dividend cut to say 0.5 or 0.6p and an EBITDA/debt target range of 1-2x. Cut the dividend and use the cash to delever to 1-2x leverage. When they get closer to 1x, they can start M&A again

Could have been much worse & perhaps today's increased volume will include more Director buying -now an interim divi has been restored & if the Final referred to matches the Interim our yield will be around 4%

As there was an update last year around this time, it is surprising that they can buy, as one would expect them to be in a closed period.

Also in view of the very small buy's there maybe other reasons than better results that interested parties are yet to fathom.

More buy backs RNS after the close suggests that Lance is happier with FY24 figures than he anticipated a few months ago-boding well for a Final Dividend to be declared

He probably had a bit of loose change in his wifes ISA,but encouraging & FY24 trading update is due very soon, which will clarify how we did in FY24 & perhaps an early view on FY25

Good point markth123 - we shall see and that is a very interesting thought.

Good luck, I am still not buying in but it maybe my mistake but I follow with great interest.
