RNS Number:9546W Conister Trust PLC 21 May 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 21 May 2007 CONISTER TRUST PLC BOARD CHANGES The Board of Directors of Conister Trust Plc are pleased to announce that Ilyas Khan has agreed to join the Board as a Non-Executive Director. Ilyas Khan, aged 44, is Non-Executive Chairman of Techpacific Capital Limited which he co-founded in December 1998 in Hong Kong. Prior to that, Ilyas Khan was a senior member of the management team and a Managing Director of Nomura Securities, responsible for the Asian (non-Japan) investment banking and fixed income business. Ilyas Khan has more than 20 years corporate finance and investment banking experience with financial institutions such as Citicorp, UBS and Schroders. At Citicorp and UBS, Ilyas initiated, built, and then managed regional corporate finance and capital market businesses in Asia and was responsible for a number of landmark transactions across Asia. The Techpacific group is engaged in the businesses of merchant banking, asset management, venture capital fund management and direct investment. It is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's GEM board, with offices in China, Singapore, the United Kingdom and has representation in other parts of Asia. Its principal subsidiary, Crosby Capital Partners, which carries out the Group's merchant banking and asset management business, is quoted on London Stock Exchange's AIM market. Crosby Capital Partners is a leading independent, deal-focused, Asia-oriented merchant banking and asset management group. Crosby has dual headquarters in London and Hong Kong, and offices across Asia. Ilyas Khan is the Group Managing Director responsible for Crosby's Merchant and Investment Banking business and has managed and been responsible for building that group's widely recognised merger and acquisition activity in recent years. Ilyas Khan's investments includes, amongst others, a significant holding in MCS Music, and Hong Kong based Creative Work Limited. He is also an independent non executive director of London listed Speymill Group and Australia listed White Energy Corporation. There is no information to be disclosed for Mr Khan under Schedule Two, paragraph (g) (iii)-(viii). Jerry Linehan, Chief Executive Officer of Conister Trust commented that Ilyas with his wealth of banking experience and business connections would be a very welcome addition to the Conister Board and invaluable in developing its banking business, in particular the rapid expansion of the prepaid card and e-commerce business into key market places. The Far and Middle East have been identified as key markets for Conister. The Board also announces that Peter JS Hammonds, who has served the Bank since 2001 first as a Non Executive Director and then Executive Chairman until the appointment of Jim Mellon will step down from the Board of Conister Trust PLC with effect from 21 May 2007. Mr Jim Mellon, Chairman, expressed his gratitude for Peter's service to the Bank during a period of significant change and wished him well in his future endeavours.
