In the latest issue of Master Investor on 25th November there is an article on gold companies and the first one is Condor:

Veteran mining analyst John Cornford reviews some of the more interesting plays in the junior mining sector…

Gold’s performance, and that of other metals, has been spurring a number of hopeful green shoots which I haven’t been able to follow in detail, so here is a quick canter (without detailed numbers or recommendations) past some of them for a quick thought.

Since I updated it in August, Condor Gold (LON:CNR) has remained in the shade of its efforts to pull together the last threads before its La India project can get going – if in a limited way. Rumours are that purchase of the final pieces of required land is almost complete, while a toll processing deal has been agreed in principle.

With negotiations under wraps and initial volumes to be mined and trucked not known, it is impossible to estimate how quickly this will translate into cash to enable Condor to ramp up to its full potential in two or three years’ time. When it does, it will be compared with Calibre Mining as a fellow Canadian listed Nicaraguan gold miner, whose current £380m market cap compares with CNR’s £53m. Calibre’s output currently is possibly twice Condor’s initial volume and it has a stronger balance sheet. But Condor could have more potential in the long term, so the disparity remains interesting.

It is the access point to the village.

Few hours ago, cnr employees and surveyors were at the side of the main road taking meassurements with topographic instruments. Perhaps a new access road to be built from that point of the main road....I have asked for location details
More signs of activity...

The 2 trades took place at just after 10am this morning at 37p but have been absorbed during the day and we held the early rise to close Up 3.85% at 40.5p.
If those sales did relate to the warrants that were recently exercised at 31p that’s a 6p per share profit for the warrant holder in a few days and the company has received 31p per share so a win win situation.

Well I hope there are a lot of jobs created there by Condor, and lots of training given for local people as well. For artisanal miners, I think the plan has always been to process ore at the new plant for them in order to avoid rastras and the dangers with mercury.. hopefully they realise thats got to be good for their health too!

If the cooperative do sell soon, then its a shame that just one landholder seems intent on delaying a project that the whole community could benefit from faster.. To be honest, Im surprised she doesnt face more opposition from the community who as you say, want to be able to start working as soon as possible!!

Anyway, lets see what news we get soon - hopefully some big news in next 3 weeks before any shutdowns for the holidays..

Its good to hear that Covid doesnt seem to have affected the people in Nicaragua as badly as the rest of the world.. reports seem to be that hospital and health centres are working fairly normally / not many cases..

IMHO:
-We all know short and long term they worry about jobs. If they have jobs, then they will not object that cnr takes ore somewhere else.
-Short term a generous land for them to mine will do. This land we dont know where is located yet. May be in a place they named: El Llano, , may be la Mestiza itself?
-Long term, cnr said they will run courses to capacitate locals to access to cnr jobs.

I believe things are going well, next news will be we bought land from the cooperative, and hopefully the toll mining too

book5 - what do you think the attitude will be like towards toll mining from Mestiza/America veins? Just concerned that the people in La India might view Condor starting to truck ore to another plant (El Limon, La Libertad or San Albino for example) as a bit of a betrayal in the short term and protest/block the trucks.. Will they understand that Condor is having to extract and sell the ore from the land they have bought in order to raise some money to finance the new plant they are building? Any thoughts?

Gold moving in the right direction this morning as is CNR Up 3.9% on volume of 35000 from 5 trades. Let’s hope this rise continues as we await the next news.

Apparently some miners have been giving notice to evacuate by mid Feb 2021, and they were told that cnr will provide an alternative land where to relocate them
Imho Site clearance is on the cards.
We should be on the news for all the good reasons.

I agree, very disappointing. I do not think it is entirely due to POG, though, as other gold miners have been impacted much less. There were 4 or so sells of 50k and 2 of 30k with a total value of trades at a paltry 130,000! It could simply be a function of the lack of liquidity in the shares, but it is odd that the price rarely (with one or two exceptions) moves up as quickly with a few big buys as it moves down with a few biggish sells. Patience is required here and I have only been in for 4 months. I don't expect those of you who have been here 10+ years have much hair left.

The share price performance today is very disappointing but I am going to put it down to the fall in the gold price rather than an issue with CNR.

Shovel ready which means:
All land bought
Advancement of engeneering procurement, almost completed

Recently he added:
Infilling drilling in the short term

Early 1st term decision plant, financing

Toll mini g has never been promised, tough last interview he said he is in favour. He said quotations for operations have been taken, this tallies with Exoplotec been involved

Don't have much time to go into details, but most probably (I can't say 100% as I would be stoned if it does not happen ) we will have cooperative land soon. Reasons, majority associates are very old, and dont live in village,..... But you never know.... Soon enough now

book5 - just so we are on the same page, in your mind, what would you say MC has "promised to deliver" by the end of the year...

Land clearance..
Production decision i.e size of plant
2nd hand plant purchase /deposit paid
Anything else?

I would say Toll mining deal is still only a possibility , its not a guarantee although a lot of us believe that it will either happen with Calibre or Mako (or maybe even both)

What MC said, if the team delivers it by end of year, will be enough to lift off the share price substantially

'book5' I also read that comment on the other BB and I wouldn't pay much attention to it as it was 'tongue in cheek' as they say. What I'm more concerned about is whether you get your bottle of drink based on your share price prediction ;-)ATB & GLA as always!

what I am hearing is that the cooperative will sell its land
Don^a Isabel Irrutia has not decided to sell yet, at the moment we would need government support to buy her land.
i want to trust MC when he says the land is not an issue.
