I think the price of gold moving so much higher higher for a couple of unconnected events, and this rise is pretty unique, although obviously also very welcome!

MC has not been vindicated for using $1,250 for the Whittle report IMO, that was still wrong at the time and he has got lucky that events have taken over in his favour so quickly. Having said that, If we wants to publish a Whittle report at $1,500 he should go ahead though, maybe goldbugs are using this as their guide? :-)

There were two significant events today that marked gold up so much IMO;

1) The stance of Saudi Arabia in effectively announcing an invasion of Syria (to back their proxies who are being routed) is threatening a wider conflict if they are stupid enough to try it, on the basis of fighting ISIL.

2) The continuing yellen debacle with rates maybe having to come down rather than up in the next move, causing the $ to lose value and gold to benefit.


I think the main driver for gold today was the Syrian turmoil and the possibility of a larger confrontation with SA and Turkey threatening invasion, although I doubt they will go through with it unless the US send in their ground forces with them.

all good for us gold investors though.

Update from MC on the permit application just 24 days ago (for anyone that missed it)..

'The completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment and application for
an Environmental Permit has been submitted (see RNS dated 1st December 2015). The EIA has passed an initial review by the Ministry of the Environment. The Company’s unaudited cash position at 31st December 2015 was £1.1million. The Government of Nicaragua remains very supportive of permitting a new mine at Mina La India.'

What planet is 888 on?The share price had already made the rise when the volume was lower. It was me that told you that it could move on small volume and that the 1m volume days were not the norm.I give up perhaps some of these people are still in prams and can't think for themselves

Yesterday evening I said to Andy that Condor can move up very quickly if the buy volume picks up to a decent level which was the lesson of the recent rise towards 60p.
Early this morning I said today's good news was gold having risen to$2010. I have been out all day and have just come back to discover that gold had an excellent day. It is now above $1250 which was the gold price used in the recent Whittle report. There were complaints about using the $1250 from some on this board who like to take a rather negative stance but as today proves the gold price can move quite a lot over periods of days and months. The important point is to predict the likely gold price or average gold price when the gold is mined.
It looks like today's rise in Condors share price was largely driven by the gold price as the volume was only 500000.
I hope we can all agree that it was a good day for Condor
