Things looking brighter on the supply-side from Microchip Technology who were the main drag on CNC delivering their order book:

Microchip Technology - 2/11/12

"As our customers adjust to their evolving demand patterns, we have continued to accommodate customer pushout requests where possible. We have also made considerable progress in further decreasing average lead times and ended the September quarter at roughly 13 weeks. The reduction in lead times is resulting in lower bookings and reduced near-term visibility. The actions we are taking to reduce lead times are designed to enable our customers and us to navigate this uncertain environment with agility and effectiveness."

Indeed, haven't seen a trade of 125,000 in a very long time. No news either.

I think the comments from the company suggest that it's noteworthy!Brent Salgat, President of Concurrent Technologies Inc, stated: "We pride ourselves on delivering leading-edge, reliable and cost-effective solutions to the market. This, our highest performance PIC to date, was originally conceptualised for a leading US-based provider of mission-based solutions, and we are delighted to now launch the product for general deployment."

Hope CNC don't go down the path of quantity over quality for their rns notifications. Seen other AIM company's do this over the years to hide the real lack of progress.Associate the new product to a big order and then we're talking. Impossible for us to gauge the worth / value of this product to the company with what is public knowledge.

Ah, but there are heatsinks and heatsinks, so hopefully the RNS isn't inflated by hot air!

I'm not sure adding a heatsink justifies an RNS Martin ;-)

I believe the straw that broke the camel's back was an apparent inability to deliver on time for CNC.Aside that, I have been very impressed speaking with Kim Garrod, an excellent appointment in my view.

Hastings . Exactly what I thought. Even if the CFO wasn't up to it. Should have been picked up by auditors years back.its the new CFO that came with Miles who discovered the errors. Should get audit fees refunded while they are at it or maybe they binned the invoice. I hope so

The % for the older holdings notices will have been potentially impacted by the recent placing, but they are there or thereabouts.

I may be wrong but I think fund managers such as Lombard Odier only have to declare holdings of 5% and over

It would be interesting to know if they bought those 5 million shares on the open market. If so it must be for some time as only 2 million shares were traded from when the share price was 75p until now. So if L O were buying in October they didn’t have much effect on stemming the fall. It will be interesting to see if some lasting confidence has been restored by LO taking 5%. It’s always possible that they had just under 3% before so haven’t bought all 5 million recently.

Don't know where Lombard got their shares from as the share price performance doesn't imply it was the open market ?

Washington Post - 27/10/23

Unless the defense industrial base is urgently enlarged, America’s military will be, as some policy experts have observed, like a great football team that can play only through the first quarter. Hence, Wicker’s conclusion: “We are in our most dangerous security moment since World War II.”

Sleepy,

That'll be down the CFO. She's expanded the tendering and accounting staff and is brining in new software systems.

It looks a profitable and growing sector, Abaco's UK/European division did this before Covid hit:

Abaco Systems Limited accounts to year ending December 2020:

-Turnover: £106.6m up from £98.6m
-PBT: £26.4m up from £23.8m

Abaco's 2022 results were filed recently:

-Turnover: £61.8m down from £87.2m
-PBT: £3.4m down from £10.8m

Abaco note in the results that a shortage of microchips adversely impacted revenue.

I genuinely wish Miles and the company the best and hope the fairly ambitious growth plan succeeds.

I'm watching with interest.
