The Terry's and Breiths of this world are not suited for public limited companies. They need plc status for the scale and funding to get to where they want to go - but their business mentality, drive and energy (which are commendable traits) needs private company status, where they can get on and run the business without being answerable to anyone.

Unfortunately, a plc company is not the format for that.

So what's this worth now? The profit warning is horrific, there must be a good chance of a hefty placing, boardroom chaos. This could easily fall to £10m, maybe even £5m. It's really that bad.
