Some time back I received an e-mail allegedly from a COMG shareholder offering information about COMG but he wanted to know my personal details including telephone numbers so he could verify my ID. He claimed to be from Spain and said that he would post something to confirm his IP matched that from the e-mail. All matched up but something was not right.

In the first e-mail and subsequent communications he claimed he was a reader of the thread but there had been no previous visits from that IP or location. He later posted again and the IP from the e-mail and first post did not come up again in the stats. Then the veiled threats started and therefore I had to conclude that for whatever reason that poster was not genuine. I have been contacted by one or two others who are not genuine also. The ones to be wary of are the ones asking lots of questions about you and not what they can do for you, but what you can do for them.

I think there is a way to create false IP's in e-mails to give the impression that one is posting from a different location to where you actually are.
I think some of these folks live in a fantasy world and watch too many James Bond films. They think they are one step ahead and cannot be traced should the need arise.

Another e-mail I received, some time back I believe was from a former director of LAC claiming to be an investor in LAC. I googled the name in the e-mail which came up as a senior diplomat in China. I never did follow it up to see whether the e-mail was genuine or not but you have to wonder why a senior official in a sensitive state would contact a poster from an obscure thread on a BB. I believe that the e-mail traffic between certain individuals will be quite interesting should the full copies of the communications be required.

I have nothing to fear - it was not Loverat that ran London Asia and Commodity Growth or posted on the threads at the time under various guises. All my posts are honest comment and observation based on fact which can be verified. Those that did not want this thread to resurface know that full well. The findings by the new management of London Asia might be hard to believe but they would not have been published if there was no truth to them. As for COMG - no such recovery specialist has taken the reigns so it is for me and one or two others to get to the truth. I have posed questions time and time again which go unanswered so it is not as if the directors and others who know the answers have not had the opportunity to address them.

Shareholders have a right to know what happened to their investments.

How do you record viewers IP's?
Is there something special in your header?

Just interested, no other reason.

Well, I don't know how or why some of you folks do it - nor am I interested.

But when my stats come up as Leighton Buzzard in Scotland, New Barnet in Norfolk
and Brighton in Meyseyside I know something ain't right. It also looks as if some of you can give the impression of different IP's or countries.

I think I said here once that I love evaluating stats etc regarding visitors to this thread. What is striking about many readers here is that they disguise their IP's and locations.

Please can I ask readers to refrain as it is distorting my figures.

From the MI website:

Management International
144 Cromwell Rd
London
SW7 4EF

London Gatwick is the nearest international airport to MI. There are frequent train services from Gatwick to Central London (Victoria) where you can take a train, bus or tube to MI.

From London Heathrow there are three options:

- Coach to Victoria and then a train to the stations mentioned above
- Piccadilly Line underground into Central London, changing line to an appropriate mainline station then by local train to MI.
- Heathrow Express rail link to Paddington, then Bakerloo Line to Charing Cross from where you can take the Northern Line Southbound (Black Line) to Clapham Common.

London City Airport, with its comprehensive range of services from European cities, is located in the City close to Canary Wharf. Direction can be given if requested

If you wish MI to collect you from Gatwick, Heathrow or other airports near to London, please complete the appropriate section in the application form.

Well, this is quite impressive. You can be collected at an airport by Management
International. As it happens, I have to drive up to Gatwick tomorrow to drop someone off. While I am in the vicinity perhaps MI would be kind enough to collect me from Gatwick and take me to their offices to inspect the books. Seen as I am now a shareholder in one of Principal Holmes'companies I am sure he would be most happy to oblige.

Also I'd be interested in your opinion on the suspended strike off.

Not seen you post for a while. What's your opinion of Merchant House Group?

Do you reckon it's worth a punt - or do you think it will end in tears? Some new personnel of board so they might make a go of it. I would hate for my investment to go down the drain though. I guess if that happens me and the other shareholders could knock up a website and set up an action group. I see some JRVS shareholders appear to be taking this route.

Just thinking - I wonder what became of the COMG shareholder who e-mailed me last year. John Cooper I think his name was.

That's right - he e-mailed me from Spain if I remember correctly. I just might contact him again and see how he is. Might have lost his e-mail though so may have to check the shareholders register. I suppose there cannot be more than one John Cooper?

And I have a great admiration for those who devote themselves to teaching others. I guess Holmes and Allnutt may not have agreed with the new strategy and they were proved right - the new company was suspended just two months or so later.

Perhaps they saw value where the others didn't and purchased the assets so they could continue their pursuit of helping others to learn. Truly admirable qualities.

'Principle Holmes' pops up again.

Management International

James Holmes

Principal

James has been in education management for almost 10 years. He is currently involved in several education initiatives both in and outside of the UK.

Well guys - I have a confession to make. As well as creating a thread for Merchant House Group - a company which has Holmes as a director, I also have purchased some shares in the company.

I am expecting great things for the future and hope that Holmes and Co can
deliver and brighten up my portfolio.

This appears to be the other part of the business which was sold off. Management International.

By all accounts the website don't look at all bad. I wonder what would have happened to EPE/COMG if the management had not flogged it off. Presumably shareholders must have approved the sale for the price of 70K (assessed as fair by 'independent' directors Simon Littlewood and Victor Ng) so I wonder
what the rationale was behind the decision.

In order to consider that perhaps it is time to take a long hard look at the accounts between 2007 and now.

This from Companies House. Will look into this further next week but have any readers any views on why this may have occurred? I have an idea but would welcome any contributions.

Loverat,

The fact that someone may be offended is not,in my opinion, cause to outlaw the cause of the offence. In fact, being overtly offended rewards the offender!
Only by not responding - en masse would be good! - sends the message that the offenders behaviour is not desirable and therefore futile.

We live in a world of 'me-now' politics and therefore believe 'we' can bully, cajole and legislate 'ourselves' into a position of control, of not only the actions, but the thinking of others - we can't.To be successful in changing behaviour we must lead by example and be patient.

I agree with your comments.

But on the MDX thread you are well known for encouraging people to engage their brain before posting.

On the Global Warming thread you have consistently said that those who support the
theory should provide evidence.

On these grown up threads the right to challenge views of a perceived extreme, childish or hastily reached view is paramount. But on the race issue, I happen to know of many people who are offended and upset at some of the remarks posted on this site.
