United States, Saudi Arabia and Russia Find Agreement on Oil Policy

June 13, 2018

HOUSTON — It is unusual for the United States, Saudi Arabia and Russia to see eye-to-eye, much less try to achieve common energy policy goals, even indirectly.

But that is what seems to be happening, and it is taking the edge off the yearlong rise in oil and gasoline prices. Even if those countries have their own reasons for welcoming the surge in production, it is also reducing the influence of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, which will meet in Vienna next week to discuss production cuts put in place in early 2017...

RE: Interesting from BP

“The SWP of Trinidad is located in a geological setting which is continuous with the Eastern Venezuelan hydrocarbon basin. This petroleum province has delivered copious reserves which Columbus aims to pursue in this underexplored onshore extension of the basin. A working petroleum system is in place in the SWP as evidenced by the shallow Bonasse and Icacos fields and continuity with the nearby offshore Soldado fields. Established Trinidad reservoir units are present including the deltaic reservoir sands in the Cruse, Forest and Morne L’Enfer formations and prospectively the deep Herrera formation. A combination of structural and stratigraphic traps have been
mapped with potential stacked vertical targets. This is a well-known system within Trinidad and lowers the risk associated with exploration drilling in the area.
Following the acquisition of the Full Tensor Gravity Gradiometry (FTG) survey, which was completed in early 2015, and extensive interpretation of the onshore 3D seismic, Columbus has already identified a risked portfolio of over a dozen shallow and deep prospects and leads. These range in size from an estimated 20 MMbbl up to almost 400MMbbl oil in place with the potential for stacked vertical targets capable of being investigated with a single well design. Columbus aims to target drilling a risked portfolio of prospects from our own cash resources.”

Boundary conditions
• Self sustaining business “Live within our means” • Aim for a minimum corporate cash balance
• Exploration from free cash only
• In-organic maturation from further
discretionary funds

RE: Interesting from BP

But most importantly from Mr Gordon Stein (my fav :)

How would you finance future Growth? M&A?
Over the past 15 years, I have raised almost US$2 billion of funds in numerous transactions to finance companies I have worked for as CFO. These included many innovative funding structures which have added value for our shareholders. The leadership team has similar experience and, together, we have been laying the groundwork with various funding bodies to be able to access funds which may be required to support future growth opportunities. We have committed that any new funds will be accretive for our shareholders; that is, any equity or other form of funding to support growth opportunities needs to be clearly seen to increase shareholder value, not reduce that value through dilutive fundraising.”

12bn - a 1% share price move is hardly a TIMBRrrrrrrr moment is it but I can understand that when you are used to getting it wrong almost every day you have to shout any trivial non-failure from the rooftops. Are you still using the same crystal ball that advised sell CERP at 2p and buy KOD at circa double current share price some weeks ago - after that performance I'd have risked the 7 years bad luck - couldn't get any worse for you!

AR on M&A

"The Company wishes to complete at least one
other material M&A deal in 2018 and is using the
following screening criteria:
• Caribbean or South American
• Onshore
• Proved hydrocarbon province
• Assets close to existing infrastructure
• Operatorship
• Assets suitable for rejuvenation and
exploration or appraisal/development upside
The Company intends that any M&A
transaction would be funded in a manner which
is accretive for Columbus’ current shareholders.

I would also like to read a forward statement. This 800 target at y/e should not be cast in stone. I prefer to assess performance on an ongoing basis and one often hear 'on target', 'ahead of schedule', etc which in itself impacts the investor confidence. Fair to say they have MET their targets so far, considering where we started under Leo but I'd prefer to think that there are additional plans to ramp up production from the existing and recently acquired assets.

Good point Rossannan. Hope they stick with the average production numbers for Q2 rather than raise false hopes. I was working on an average increase of 50 bopd, continuing in that vein to reach 800 by the y/e. That's about the only thing that will support the share price until the 'deal(s)' get announced.

EDIT: I should add imo of course!

Well, we must be only company that had no correlation to POO on the way up. :o(

What's everyone expecting for the next quarter update on production numbers?. My guess is about 50 bopd rise since the last quarterly figure....based on the snippets being aired.....leading up to 800 by the year end, purely from the declared program of work.

12bn - what do you want readers here to do with your information - it won’t be a surprise for anyone actively following the market - those looking longer term know your tips reflect your general level of ignorance 12bn - selling here at 2p some weeks ago to buy into KOD with a circa 50% loss doesn’t see like good business but perhaps you enjoy being labelled a loser 12bn!
