Russia & Saudi-led OPEC working on deal to corner oil market for decades

Moscow and Riyadh, backed by OPEC, are negotiating a deal that would allow them long-term control of oil prices. If successful, Russia and Saudi Arabia would manage oil markets for the next two decades.
At the moment, Russia and OPEC are signing agreements on oil production cuts on a yearly basis. However, the next deal could be much longer...

Nine months ago the share price was 2p so close to a 200% return since then.

Seven months ago the share price was 4p so around 50% return since then.

I'm confident that any long term holder taking advantage of such buying opportunities will have beaten the traders all day long. Less of the whingeing perhaps and let LK and his team get on with it.

Holly Day - I'd agree with you if LK had said the updates might be quarterly but if there's a few chat room posters demanding it I might slip them out early even though they won't cover the whole quarter LOL!

That's fair enough Rossannan. But imo, he can't control the traders as he seems to set out to do, even the FTSE companies have traders. Good for the churn imo. However, AIM is a lot more volatile and reacts radically to news (or lack of). Still can't work out why he needs to defer the 1/4ly update though as he has already mentioned the double production. Last few days will make no difference as it's the average that one needs to look at and forward statement. He seems to have a lot more to say in the interviews than the RNS's imo.

I seem to remember you saying 12bn that there may be trouble ahead when the share price was 4.6p a week or so ago. That "trouble" saw a 30% increase in the share price This is a short-term blip and the price has already started rising again. Don't get too excited too early. You tend to end up with egg on your face.

Lind probably won't want to stick forever - that's life - looks like there are buyers to assist their exit.

If it's a good deal, I'd rather CERP wait till next week to announce it. It will get no attention in the latter half of a day before an extra long weekend. Start fresh next week, or even w/c April 9th when all bums are back in seats.

Likewise with the production update. If they are continuing to raise production day by day, I'd rather they wait till the last day of the quarter to announce the highest possible flow rate.

astorcourt - sometimes the weight of the business case in favour of an action is overwhelming - as is the case for applying for the new tender in Spain - even die hard denier of Spain's potential Rossannan seems to have taken that on board!

Obviously I read that NEXUS. But an RNS to confirm the La Lora, i.e, a formal letter from Spanish authorities?. This tells us absolutely nothing material or different to what the last RNS stated. IMO, was not the 'deal' that anyone was pinning their hopes on. I don't think LK's excitement in the interview was anything to do with this either. This is a formal closure that could've come at any time, unplanned.

Whilst I like LK and the way he is progressing the company, his interviews are a little like the Lenigas tweets imo. He needs to be be very measured about what he says and not let his excitement get the better of him. As much he wishes an investor base of LTH's and avoid traders, imo, he is in fact doing more for the traders. For example, why not say that we are looking to conclude a small deal 'soon' rather than refer to specific time scales. Having seen the share price drift for 3 months and welcoming a minor rise, only for the folks/traders/LTH's to be disappointed with silence. Now many are pinning hopes for a production update on Tuesday. Well, he said after the bank holiday, not specifically Tues. So, perhaps more tin hats? Why exactly do we have to wait exactly 3 months (and more) for an update? If (as per his interview) he refers to double output over a year. Then surely, figures are known?
