new institutional shareholder with nearly 5% of the shares just appeared. the shares available for trading is now very limited. good to see patient money investing in the company.

Time flies. This thread is eight years old this month, it started in September 2006. I think there are only about four of us left who have stayed long and loyal to the doggy. Colt should send us a long service medal.

Rakesh Bhasin "He has a mandate to ensure we are strategically agile so that we can deliver on our profitable growth agenda.”

Isn't this part of a CEO's job?

"drive long term shareholder value"..so don't expect anything soon.

Sohail Qadri quote: “I am delighted to join Colt and look forward to focusing on profitable revenue growth and improved return on investment by strengthening our customer centricity across the business. As part of this process, I will be reviewing all the strategic options open to Colt to drive long term shareholder value.”

I am putting my money where my mouth is here. These swings on low volume are good. As soon as they break 150p, we will see 175p soon afterwards. The signs are there...BUY.

Considering GAZA, ISIS and the Ukraine are having the opposite
effect, the market bears seem to have hibrenated. Oil is also
staying down which is bullish for equities. Hope it lasts for a few
years! maybe Colt will follow the trend.

I totally agree that stocks are way better value than bonds, but I wouldn't touch bonds. The valuations look extraordinarily poor.

Markets peak when everyone is bullish. Right now, even the bears are only looking for a small setback.

DB..Equities are looking better than bonds. US stocks are forecast to have a good year and some pundits are saying stocks are much undervalued. The NASDAQ is at it's highest in 14 years, maybe some of the billions held by funds are being switched to equities.

Watching CNBC, there are a lot of bullish comments. Hope it lasts.

US market hitting new all time highs. Europe up 2%. Ukraine looking worse and ditto Iraq. What's the good news?

The original article. Grantham is looking for an EXPLOSION in deal-making that will lead the market to a real bubble, again.

I was talking to a friend in the city today about these strange movements that seem to affect Colt so much. I guess it is because I thought that this company would be 300p or more by now.

Of course the market is led by Fidelity and the fact it seems to just sit and watch and maybe wait. His advice is to the same and stop trying to second guess. Easy to say, but I guess I must enjoy the pain of holding this loser.

footnote...M&A activity is common at a market bottom because lower stock prices are attractive to potential acquirers as they look to consolidate competitors and grab more market share. If that were the case here why the extreme swings on low volume.

DB...and Colt's favourite song...'Down Down' by Status Quo. Today's teeny volume and fall along with ten years of disappointment may tell us where the customers yachts went.
