09/9/2021 20:13 | FWIW Coca-Cola HBC (LSE: CCH) is Europe’s largest CocaCola bottler, with a stronghold on the European beverage market. Marketed by one of the most beloved brands in the world, I think it is a stable investment that almost guarantees returns in the long term. Along with Coke, the company also licenses popular products like Fanta, Monster Energy, and Costa Coffee. This adds to its diversity, which I think allows it to garner a large and faithful consumer base. The company has rebounded well from the effects of the pandemic. Its shares have grown a respectable 21.3% in the last 12 months. However, the company is heavily reliant on Coca Cola products, which is a concern. But, the steady 2.2% dividend yield and unbeatable market share makes it the perfect defensive UK share to buy for my portfolio today. | philanderer

07/9/2021 10:49 | Coca-Cola HBC Hungary is withdrawing its single-use plastic cups from the Hungarian market, replacing them with fully recyclable paper cups in around 1000 hot drink vending machines across the country. The transition will be gradual with a target completion date of Q1 2022. By replacing the millions of cups used annually, the company will use between 25 and 30 tonnes less plastic, the company says. | philanderer

18/8/2021 00:09 | In partnership with Graphic Packaging International, Coca-Cola HBC’s larger multipacks are now available in a new fully enclosed paper-based carton, which replaces previously-used shrink-wrap. This follows the introduction of Graphic Packaging’s KeelClip late last year, which saw smaller multipacks (four, six and eight cans) transition to a new paperboard solution. Both packaging types were designed and developed by Graphic Packaging; which predicts that, in total, transitioning to these new secondary packaging solutions will eliminate 500 tonnes annually of hard-to-recycle shrink-wrap plastic. Coca-Cola HBC has also introduced prominent on-pack messaging in a bid to communicate its sustainability message directly to consumers, highlighting that the packs are recyclable. | philanderer
