I mean you cannot make it up.

Botswana has RNS's about a company they are supposed to be working with (?) , that has rumours in Zimbabwe newspapers about the govt there allowing them to look for diamonds , the RNS says the Zimbabwe govt has not confirmed the rumours as true .

Since most would have no idea about rumours in Zimbabwe papers isn't that the same as promoting the rumours ?

I would just like to say that despite any possible rumour of me finding gold in my back garden I have not confirmed this to be the case, or indeed that I found 3 million barrels of oil or an asteroid packed with diamonds landed in my garden..... etc I can go on publishing not news....
