Hi folks. A quiet thread, I see. I bought in today; hopefully for the long term, provided the chart keeps its upward trajectory.

CLG looks a great young growth Company.

The 'Major European Breakthrough Contract Win', announced in October could be a bit of a game changer, and this augurs well:

Busiest People Ever

Clipper provides e-fulfilment and specialist logistics services to many retailers, including Grocer Cat, John Lewis, F&F Clothing at Tesco, Supergroup, Asda, Wilko and Grandma's Apple Pies. Whilst unable to comment on Mr Frumble's returns to individual retailers performance, Flaming bananas overall volumes handled by Clipper over the Cyber weekend meant the business had its busiest period ever.

Motorists warned petrol prices will soar
by DARREN BEHAR and RAY MASSEY, Daily Mail
Petrol prices are set to soar by 9p a litre or 41p a gallon, motorists were warned yesterday.
That would send the cost of a litre crashing through the 80p mark which triggered the fuel protests of two years ago and brought the country to a nearstandstill.
A crippling oil strike in Venezuela and fears over war with Iraq have already sent crude oil prices to a two-year high, and analysts fear worse will follow.
They said a dramatic fall in supplies from Venezuela - where mass protests and strikes aimed at unseating President Hugo Chavez have kept the oilfields idle for three weeks - could force oil companies and supermarket chains to raise prices by up to 4p a litre.
Military action in Iraq could fuel a further rise of up to 5p a litre - 23p a gallon - particularly if it hits supplies from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Such a sharp rise would add to the misery of drivers already facing rises in insurance premiums and a police crackdown on motoring offences.
It would also alarm the Government, which is desperate to avoid another fuel crisis but has spending plans which depend on the 80p in the £1 it gets from fuel tax and duty.
Paul Watters, head of road and transport policy at the AA, said: 'This would be the nightmare scenario and take us back two or three years. The Government would rake in tax, but drivers would be really concerned and must be holding their breath.'
Petrol in the UK averages around 75p a litre (£3.41 a gallon) but there are huge discrepancies, with customers in some areas paying as little as 71p (£3.23), while those in remoter parts face 79.9p (£3.63).

Royal Mail cuts cost of posting Christmas gifts
Royal Mail is increasing the size and weight of packages allowed at its "small" parcel price of £2.80

Posting Christmas presents to friends and relatives will cost less this year, thanks to a price cut that will save families as much as £5 per parcel.
Royal Mail is effectively doubling the size of the packages allowed at its "small" parcel price of £2.80.
In addition, it will later this month remove the extra fees on items heavier than one kilogram. As a result, families will be able to post larger items, or cram more into a bigger container, at no extra cost.
Nick Landon, Royal Mail parcels director, said people who previously would have been forced to pay for the £8 "medium box" price might now be classed as posting a small package. They would save £5.20, or 65 per cent, he said.
The changes take effect on October 20, just in time for the Christmas post when up to 10 million parcels are delivered each day.

"Our price promotion will benefit customers sending Christmas presents to friends and relatives," Mr Landon said. "Royal Mail handles more parcels in the UK than any other parcels company and we want to provide great value and support consumers."
The increased size allowed for parcels classified as small – to 45cm x 35cm x 16cm – will be permanent, Royal Mail said. Previously, parcels could be classified as small if they fitted within a specific box shape or a shape with wider, flatter dimensions. Royal Mail has combined these two options into one, larger size limit.
The reduced price for heavier items is just for Christmas. Currently, there are separate prices for parcels weighing more or less than one kilo. Under the promotion, second class small parcels weighing up to two kilos will all cost £2.80. Royal Mail said that was a saving of £1 on small parcels weighing between one kilo and two kilos posted second-class.
The special promotion will last until January 18. From that date, heavier parcels will again cost more.
Around 100 Royal Mail delivery offices that receive the highest numbers of parcels will also open on Sunday afternoons during the Christmas period.
Royal Mail said initiative, which is a trial, would make it easier for online shoppers who were unable to collect parcels during the working day. It has also begun delivering on Sundays to addresses in and around London.

Midas says:

"In the year to April 2013, Clipper delivered underlying pre-tax profits of £8.7million. This year's figures will be released this month and are expected to show a rise to £9.6million, increasing to almost £12 million in 2015 and £13.8 million the year after."

In the original pre-float prospectus on page 6 it shows group pre-tax profits of £5.2m for the year ended 30 April 2013; not the £8.7m reported by Midas. Not sure why the difference? Exceptional items are only £392k. There might be a good explanation, just looked strange as even the operating profit did not get close to £8.7m? Hah - found it - the figure is for 'adjusted' Earnings before Interest and Tax (EBIT) ... adjustments include exceptionals and discontinuing head office costs. Still, quite a big adjustment, and the costs are real? And 'EBIT' is not 'pre-tax profit'.

Based on these numbers I'm inclined to agree with opodio ... it does not look cheap imho. But do your own research, just my opinion, and not a recommendation either way.
