05/8/2016 15:34 | Just bought into this one -looks good value. Very quiet thread !! | droid
16/6/2016 16:00 | Changing to a new depot in Bristol I have heard,i think its to handle increased volumes from a current contract.Definate confidence coming to clipper. | albert3591
07/12/2015 23:30 | Quiet board here. Highlights from last week are the Director buy at 266p and an article in IC: "Blue-chips flock to Clipper The rise of online shopping - and thus online returns in areas such as fashion footwear - have sent droves of blue-chip brands to Clipper Logistics (CLG). A spate of contract wins, 70 per cent of which reportedly came from recommendations, sent adjusted operating profit up 18 per cent to £6.2m in the six months to October" | breaktwister
03/12/2015 10:26 | Decent half year results. Happy to hold here having bought on the recent dip to 240. | breaktwister
26/11/2015 17:59 | Well I'll be dipped! | gargleblaster
19/11/2015 15:37 | You raise some good questions and concerns saucepan. I would have thought that it must be the case that margins are under pressure across the sector as each company bids more and more competitively for business. Could be the case of too many companies operating in the sector perhaps i dont know? | cfro
19/11/2015 14:40 | I have just been looking at CLG a bit further. I am wondering if there is any potential sector "read-across" from the DX. trading update/profit warning that has just devastated the share price? DX. pointed to: * challenging trading conditions * pricing pressure * deteriorating trading patterns * increased cost based pressures * driver resourcing issues The moot question being: is this DX. company specific weakness, or is it indicative of wider sector challenges that could also impinge on CLG, including increased competition (e.g. lack of barriers to entry)? These possible concerns have stopped me buying back for now, but I would be interested in what others think. | saucepan
19/11/2015 12:17 | Modform, u must b very cautious as I do not see any reason to be negative based the statement you have quoted. It is simply stating that they are growing organically in terms of services offered to existing clients AND ALSO winning new client contracts leading to exponential growth. That is how I interpret the statement, but I am not not sayin that your interpretation is incorrect, just different than mine! | breaktwister
18/11/2015 21:22 | Thanks saucepan, the only bit that was of concern to me was this bit on the trading statement:The Board remains confident that continued organic growth in the Group's sectors, particularly e-fulfilment and returns management services, coupled with the benefit of new contract wins, will continue to deliver strong performance in the second half.It says coupled with the benefit of new contract wins. Is he saying that they need to win new contracts and how many of them to meet market expectation. That was the bit that I felt uncomfortable with. | modform
18/11/2015 20:51 | Just looked back in here, thanks to modform mentioning CLG elsewhere. I went into rather a lot of cash late August as a precautionary measure, when markets took a dive. CLG was a stock I sold up as part of that exercise. I am thinking about buying back. It looks attractive at these levels. | saucepan
13/11/2015 14:56 | Todays drop is on very low volume - this adds to my confidence to buy in here. | breaktwister
13/11/2015 14:55 | I base my opinions on last 2-5 years profits before tax, growth prospects, predicted future earnings, verses market cap. This dopr is a buying opp for me. Will do further research over the weekend to try and find any nasties but in the absense of nasties this is a buy for me for my SIPP long-term. | breaktwister
13/11/2015 09:35 | On what metrics are you two basing this on? Care to share your findings or is it just your gut feeling. | liquidkid
13/11/2015 00:20 | Still on my watchlist, I now see a nice upside at this price | breaktwister
12/11/2015 12:19 | Still on the radar, will wait till the results before buying | modform
06/11/2015 23:12 | Anyone is holding here, or you have all sold and gone. The forward PER is starting to look interesting now | modform
20/8/2015 12:49 | I like this one, it is currently on my buy list, just need to raise the funds. Will continue to monitor closely. | breaktwister

17/8/2015 17:14 | Still very quiet, Baz, despite the break through 300p. Seems we have CLG almost to ourselves. | saucepan
03/8/2015 09:53 | I agree Saucepan, great company with a big future, this one's a long term keeper. Baz | bazza16
31/7/2015 14:32 | A phenomenal breakout here following very strong results and optimistic outlook. Judging by the lack of posts on this thread, this stock is still "off the radar" of most private investors. | saucepan
02/6/2015 14:31 | Q3 to 31 Jan was announced on 23 Feb therefore Q4 for 30 April should be on by the end of this month The director buying in a closed period a good move | liquidkid
29/1/2015 14:10 | Bye, close the door on the way out would you ;-] | liquidkid
29/1/2015 13:32 | Jamielein/Saucepan, Just for transparency, and you probably might think its a bit odd, but i did decide to sell my holding here today. I just dont think the share price has acted confidently enough to various newsflow recently. Just my opinion, but i hope to be back when the opportunity is ripe. | cfro |
