25/1/2009 17:50 | I telephoned these a few weeks back after the posts saying they were going to have a trading update and was told they were going to take advice from their auditors first/ I did get the feeling that the person I was talking to was being quite open and honest (a big plus in my book) but not that they were doing that well so didn't invest. Hope they're doing better than before but note the trading statement didn't arrive. | ![]() eric76
25/1/2009 17:23 | Sir_loin - I have talked to one of their distributors. | monkey boy3
24/1/2009 17:39 | Well we still most definitely want to buy those 500000 extra shares while the price is at this level. Just trying to get hold of the MD again to confirm that sales are indeed as rosy as everyone says. | dina
23/1/2009 14:47 | Where you heard that monkey boy? Hey cwning havent heard from u in a while, what u think | sir_loin
23/1/2009 11:40 | I have also had reports that their new ILipo system is also selling well, apparetnly gives instant results. | monkey boy3
22/1/2009 19:43 | Yep. Now 1.38 GBP to the Dollar - should be a big help also! | battyman2
13/1/2009 10:29 | Anyway, the fact that they are cheaper should give them a distinct advantage over their competitors in the current economic climate. | shakyhands
12/1/2009 12:19 | Thanks for that, Shakyhands. | battyman2
12/1/2009 12:13 | Good post,Battyman2.If you look at Chromogenex's initial offer document you will see lower down under 'competition' that they were aware of Cynosure [who have been going since 1991] when they floated - but the Chromogenex product is cheaper. | shakyhands
12/1/2009 12:04 | Everyone, take a look at this website: Interesting that the average cost of Smartlipo is nearly $6000!! | battyman2
12/1/2009 11:59 | Dina, some info about Smartlipo. Looks like it's an extremely popular product so if Chromogenex can get a foothold with their product, they could do very well especially if it's more price competitive. "Smartlipo MPX represents our most recent innovation in an advanced generation of laser systems that combine the power and performance of dual- wavelength technology with intelligent energy delivery," Davin continued. "As part of our goal of driving broad adoption of Smartlipo MPX through industry luminaries, we are selling the product at a slightly lower price than originally planned. While that decision contributed to a decrease in our third-quarter gross margin from the second quarter, our strategy to rapidly build our installed base has been successful, particularly among plastic surgeons with high-volume liposuction practices. Smartlipo MPX accounted for 73% of our total Smartlipo sales in the third quarter, compared with 46% in the second quarter." | battyman2
12/1/2009 11:55 | I've just looked,Dina.I'm afraid I know nothing more than is on their website.Their market cap is over 200 times that of Chromogenex, but their products don't look any more innovative.Perhaps they'd like to bid for them! | shakyhands
12/1/2009 11:13 | By the way, anyone heard of a company called "Cynosure"? (www.cynosure.com) I see that they make a product called "Smoothlipo" which looks like a competitor to Chromogenex's product. | dina
12/1/2009 11:07 | No but I'll try to find out. | dina
12/1/2009 00:51 | Hi,Dina.Did they mention anything about smoothlite when you spoke to them? It was supposed to have been launched in November, but is not listed under products on their website. | shakyhands
11/1/2009 15:47 | Hi I'm still here and will pick up those extra shares early next week if I can get them at a good price. | dina
08/1/2009 18:15 | I'm still here,Battyman2 ! I look regularly for any new news.As soon as I find anything,I'll post it here. | shakyhands
07/1/2009 16:55 | Hello, anyone still around? Dina, Shakyhands?? Small tick-up a few days ago, might be an omen of good things to come? | battyman2
23/12/2008 15:22 | Good article, shakyhands. I've repeated above for those who might just occasionally visit this thread! Looks to me that this product might just put CGX very firmly "back on the map" as long as they have full patent rights of course! | battyman2
23/12/2008 15:19 | Fat-fight find has customers beaming Tuesday, October 14, 2008, 19:30 Comment on this story WHEN Swansea business woman Donna Lee wanted to bring new fat-fighting methods to her Plasmarl beauty salon, she started scouring the world in search of the top technology. What the owner of the 1192 beauty salon had not counted on was finding the latest in light and laser weight-loss technology being manufactured right on her doorstep in Llanelli. Donna said it was a complete surprise to find Chromogenex - experts in laser and light technology, based in Dafen Industrial Estate - just a few miles away, but one that has since developed into a very productive partnership. "So far we're the only salon with their newest machine in Wales, and being so close to Chromogenex means we're able to work with them to study the effects of the machine and improve the customer experience," she said. "In terms of its efficiency for weight-loss, we've already seen some fantastic results with the new SmoothLite machine and we're not even at the end of the first courses of treatments." "Combined with healthy eating and regular exercise, some of our clients have already lost over four inches from their waists." The machine is a non-invasive alternative to surgical weight-loss treatments. It uses heat and light to diminish and redistribute problem flab. Clients undergo 10 sessions from the machine, throughout which they will be able to see the inches falling off. Chromogenex's clinical manager Donna Freeman said the company has a long history in Llanelli, but it was a new and mutually beneficial advancement to be working with the salon. "We've been based in Llanelli for nearly 20 years, working on pioneering light and lasers in medical and cosmetic treatments," she said. "We've had an abundance of national and international interest in our machines, and working with Donna and 1192 is helping us examine the SmoothLite machine at work." | battyman2
23/12/2008 03:30 | Interesting article - if two months old.I hope the link works. | shakyhands
22/12/2008 10:18 | I would suggest that you'd better buy the 500k shares fairly soon (IMHO) because I would think that the Pound/Dollar exchange rate must be really helping Chromogenex's sales. More then likely a trading update will be issued within the next few weeks and we won't be seeing this low share price level again! | battyman2
18/12/2008 20:40 | Thanks everyone. It would mean that I would hold a million shares - nearly 2% of the company! | dina
18/12/2008 16:23 | Would be a very brave gamble Dina but shakyhands is right. Any good news could jump the shareprice upwards by 100% or more and if what McG told you is true that good news could be coming quite soon! | battyman2
18/12/2008 12:24 | If what they've told you is true,Dina, they're a top value spec. With the market cap at it's current levels, they have to be high-risk,though,but I really like the technology. 500,000 shares is a not insignificant proportion of the company! | shakyhands |
