accept that only applies where shielded cables are used. The majority of use in EV's is in electromagnetic motor coils the basis of the driving force in EV's.

The harness in an EV uses a fraction of the copper used elsewhere.

An EV depending on size contains approx. 185lb of copper with plug in hybrids containing 135lb and hybrids 85lb., whereas the average ICE vehicle contains 18-45lb.

Looks like someone sold a few at 15.70 and this has put fuel on the fire, the mm now has something to sell back to us at ever higher prices.

What many people don't realise is that a lot of the thickness of copper cable is to give the cable strength rather than electrical current carrying capacity. Using LSE:TWD's patented Improved Harness Technology (IHT) means that the strength is provided by the PCB rather than than cable. Result: Same current capacity with much reduced copper usage.

As copper prices are already heading to the moon, this copper saving aspect will become more and more important to EV manufacturers (as well as other manufacturers).

This is just one of the many reasons a major EV manufacturer has recently signed a £38 million deal with TWD.

Aluminium cannot be used for EV's (coils), although conductance Aluminum has 61 percent of the conductivity of copper, but has only 30 percent of the weight of copper. That means that a bare wire of aluminum weighs half as much as a bare wire of copper but in the same ratio requires larger wire/cable.

Silver is not often used in communication devices because of passive intermodulation products but where copper wire is coated with a thin film of silver it assists.

As it is a problem with EV's is the size and weight, so aluminium not really on the cards for motors.

Another big problem for aluminium is combustion. Aluminium will combine with other materials to increase intensity of fire, which is why aluminium figured in the very flammable panels on the outside of apartments.

If you want conductance there is only one metal that stands out. Silver, the metal by which all others are compared with on conductance scale.

Aluminum 2.82×10*-8 (*=-8) 5.80x10*7 (7)
Copper. 1.68x10*-8 5.96x10*7

Steady climb to 50p soon hopefully when assay results come, and would still be less than 50m mcap

And talking of Mike Walters investment site, the new 3% holder of CHF shares is a recent subscriber there. Can't speak highly enough of the site well worth the subscription.

For those that haven't seen the KWN piece:-

Lawrence McDonald, Former Head of Macro Strategy Société Générale: …we have heard these estimates for years on EV penetration- more important question [where] are the charging stations, copper and silver going to come from?

Green Copper
Total Pounds used in Electric Vehicles*
Traditional Car: 31
Hybrid (HEV*): 82
Plug-in hybrid (PHEV*): 131
Battery BEVs*): 186

Again, if you do the math on electric vehicle (EVs) sales assumptions for Tesla and all the players, then look at the global copper supply, then look at the amount of copper needed to meet EV sales, then look at the CAPEX required to find all that copper. Someone is very wrong…

If excellent drill results arrive with intercepts of both copper & gold I think £160m market cap could be possible given the backing of Polymetal. TXP has almost 10 bagged since this time lastvyear and is now £233m mcap vs £24m exactly a year ago.

Another very positive write-up this evening on the excellent Michael Walters investment site. Hold tight to the shares is the general thrust of the article!

Only the surface oxidized. It's what protects the metal from further oxidation. Anyway, hows the oxygen going to get through the coating?

Overhead power lines are normally aluminium.

Aluminium is a good conductor but it oxidises and the oxidisation isn't conductive. Copper oxide is.

Strange but true.

Or aluminium really. Lots of aluminium around and has a better conductance than copper by weight.

Great commentary on king world news about the copper in EVs.
The standard car has 31 lbs of copper, a standard battery EV has 181 lbs of copper.
The question being asked is where is all that copper going to come from, as well as the infrastructure, and the Capex required to produce it.
