We were based In Windhoek but toured all over and stayed at Walvis Bay,Swapkopmund, and Luderitz etc. But did not make Caprivi.

I think some of the names reflect the former German history.

All the best.

No, but was in SA (Durban) when SA administered it as a 5th province. Always been fascinated by the place names as well as the country (for some reason!) Hope to head to Windhoek, Walvis Bay, Luderitz, the Caprivi & Swapkopmund one day! Good Luck.

Chesnara FY reports stronger FY profit

LONDON (AFX) - Closed life fund consolidator Chesnara PLC delivered sharply
higher full-year profit, helped by efficiency gains, and held out the
"possibility" of a return of surplus cash to shareholders.
Chesnara, which specialises in buying and profitably managing life insurance
funds that have been closed to new customers, said pretax operating profit for
the year to Dec 31 2006 came in at 15 mln stg on a European Embedded Value
basis, up 40 pct from 10.7 mln stg the previous year.
Pretax profit on the alternative IFRS basis stood at 25 mln stg, up from
20.5 mln stg last time.
Chesnara said that in the absence of suitable fresh acquisitions, it had
focused in 2006 on unlocking economies of scale from its existing portfolio of
closed funds, and said it may return surplus cash to shareholders if no
investment opportunities present themselves.
"The flow of closed life book consolidation opportunities remains slow ...
if there is no clearly superior investment alternative, the possibility of a
return of capital remains," Chairman Christopher Sporborg said in a statement.
The group is paying a total dividend for 2006 of 13.1 pence, a 5.2 pct
increase on the previous year.

There is no logic. Looking at the graph the volume over the last few months is way ahead of previous months and positive, but overall we are down. The sector has been up day after day but we are down. The company reported profits and is fundamentally very strong but we are down. It dropped the other day by 6%.....why? I think they have got this wrong and a massive correction upwards is the only route surely.

I see this as a long-term hold, for dividend and longer-term growth. I bought at 183, but I'm not concerned, and will buy some more soon.
