Posted at 17/1/2019 11:03 by davydoo Sometimes you think markets are efficient, then you see the share price of an asset manager like Charles Stanley fall on the days it announces reduced assets under management, when you'd think investors would know its AUM would have fallen as at 31 Dec in line with the market falling.Funny old game |

Posted at 16/4/2014 08:20 by its the oxman Agree not as positive an update as hoped but also not wholly unexpected given the talk about costs in earlier update. So market possibly prepared a big for this. But talk of revenue well ahead of expectations suggests plenty of growth is there to counter the ex growth notion, but presently being offset by costs of transition to handle it. Will get away with this if it is largely owing to a year of transition which investors have to tolerate to enjoy growth thereafter. So do you trust the management or not? |
Posted at 27/9/2013 18:40 by topvest Anyone seen p14 of the Investors Chronicle? - I am furious! My note to Charles Stanley... "I have just read the article in Investors Chronicle indicating that charges are going from £24 per annum to £420 per annum. Is this true? If so, I find it unbelievable that you have told Investors Chronicle before your valued customers. There is no mention on this on your web-site. Please could you let me know what is going on. Up until now I would rate your service as 10/10, and recommend you to anyone, but I find this an unbelievably bad way of treating your customers and dealing with a price change. Mac Anderson should NOT be talking to the press ahead of actually communicating to your customers!" |
Posted at 02/12/2007 14:57 by its the oxman thanks for your reply - i also note there is an article in this weekends FT titled ' Investors could be bailing out too soon', suggesting stockbrokers have been oversold including direct mention of C.S.,Rensburg Shep, Rathbones and Brewin Dolphin. It also notes these players all have more diversifed income streams than a few years ago. With the added attraction of the cash held by C.S. though i agree it does look cheap/attractive to my mind. Just need sentiment to turn although the last director sale was a bit disappointing to see. |
