My filter list is growing!
Derempers working hard on the boards at the moment, possibly smacks of something in the air, or maybe just closing shorts.

Anyway... no idea of the rumour is true..., but if you want an idea of the value put on char at the time of HRT taking over UNX this article (below) written about the time (Feb 2011) should give an idea.

Looking at the UNX bid, the analyst comes up with a 'proxy asset value' of US$0.08 per prospective resource barrel - based on UNX having 9.472 million barrels of oil equivalent. He subsequently reckons Chariot's 'comparative metric' would be around US$0.05 a barrel.
"In our opinion, there will be a positive knock-on effect for Chariot," Riding said.

He adds: "it is possible to imply a prospective resource asset value of US$857.7 million or £532.7 million (equivalent to 368 pence a share); "

CEO Bob lost the plot ages ago. His accusations against the board are libelous imo and may well have contributed to the reduction in market capitalisation. He will pay. Same goes for several others on iii and this board. The chariot guys will no doubt be assessing how they tackle the particularly nasty, vicious, and repeated claims by what appears to be misinformed, or informed but obtuse individuals that the boards have dredged up.

The presentation lays out the cash position very clearly. It lays out the timetable of events for the coming year, and following on years in as much detail as is necessary at this point. It shows potential risked and unrisked reserves, and its pretty clear that BOD are de-risking by allowing others to drill - and why not - its like playing golf - if the other guy pulls out a 7 iron and is short by 10 yards then you might just think of pulling out a 6 iron!

The first thing that the BOD need to do is reduce the 'noise' associated with this share. There are several ways they can do this, and are no doubt assessing. The next they already have plans in place. Presentations, partner seeking and so on. Its just time.

And in the meantime - those shares just sold have been bought by longer term accumulators happy to take the shares off some who may have been overleveraged, or felt rather faint in the last three days. I feel sorry for those who sold out because they may have been scared out by some of the BS posters - ridiculous - and just a reflection of the lengths some scumbags will go to to get their hands on other peoples shares.

It will not have escaped operators that the value of char and its cash is ..err...the same. So they could buy for X, and find X in the bank account. Clearly ridiculous. The market is effectively saying that the acreage - all potential giant killer regions - is not worth anything. Odd that! Especially given the myriad of operators lining up seeking acreage in those potential giant field regions. The reason there is no bid is obvious - others would pile in to counter offer. There will be no bid. But this share will stabilise as the company gets a tighter grip on messaging, and action.

If Char seek out those making libelous remarks and prosecutes I for one will applaud Chariot :-)

In the longer term, this will come good. In the short and medium term, this faces a choppy ride. For those buying in now, the risk/reward based on HRT drills looks good for a disciplined stake. But for many already here, this has turned into a very bad investment.

Lananken - I was in speculatively for Nimrod 2 but that was dismissed in the presentation this week, "no further potential" if I remember the words correctly, and hence made my decision to go, add to that cash burn and no real excitement towards a 19% COS 375m barrel prospect in relative terms to Taper/Nimrod.

that is the point I made earlier that it's a smart move to let others drill in all 3 countries and we get the ride at no expense to CHAR. And when it's CHAR time to spin the drill bit they will have a better understating of the geology.

if anything the reason for this stratery is cause Larry is safeguarding as much cash as possible.

We were stupid enough under PW to drill one well 100%, nobody does not, they will not make that mistake again.

HRT drilling two wells that impact our Central Licence - Wingat and Murombe.

We have two principle plays - Deeper Petroleum (principle target Prospect 1) and Shallow Petroleum (principle target Prospect B).

So does anyone know which plays Wingat and Murombe are 'proving up'?

Re the Southern Licence HRT's Moosehead well in Q3 will impact deeper onlap traps and Chariot's seismic plans will hinge on this result.

So looks like we have three rolls of the HRT dice.

Indian3 - why? Simple - I want to see who Chariot can sue for the libelous remarks that have been made against the CEO and BOD.

I think I need a break Indian!

I also note with interest that the Brazilian Defence Minister visited Namibian officials the other day, to keep the Waters between them safe - so Oil Exploration and Production is unaffected.

Good Pals these Two Countries.
Bi-lateral trade will boom soon!

in regards to question (not directed at me) about HRT drills... i thought it was 2 drills in central area... not far from one another, and one drill in southern area... that makes 3 drills for hrt :-)))

for the person who posed the question... best for u to zip thru the hrt and char websites so that u can confirm it 4 urself...

HB why you encouraging these idiots with such sentences.

As I said value will come through in time.

As one famous legend said, 'in today's market most know the price of everything but the value of nothing, longterm value seekers are a dying breed.'

No wonder most investors lose money in the markets, jumping from one stcok to another in the hope of making returns in few days.

Completely amazed at people showing interest here still with no drills likely to be drilled for 12 months.

I sold out here and have bought TPL today. Just look at the news due at TPL, Farmin sign off worth $60m in cash to the company, workover results, 2013 drill programme, gazprom drilling results. And no fiunding required for years.

You also have Jtcod and Zengas to name a few investors there.

Thanks

GHH - Chariot has a year of excitement - HRT are drilling 3 wells this year in Namibia - one strike is all it will take.

Tullow are drilling in Mauritania - adjacent block to CHAR soon.

Cairn drilling in Morrocco this year in nearby block owned by CHAR.

Sit Back and Prosper!

Can you pls expand

Where is the third HRT well? First is near CHAR's Central Block, second is South nearer Serica's Block but the third?

Also any more info re Tullow and Mauritania. Chariot have C-19 but which is the 'adjacent' block Tullow drilling on? I assumed C-18 but drilling C-1, C-7 and C-10 this year?

And any more detail re Cairn and Morocco drilling. Just how far away/relevant is this for CHAR? I know Cairn planning multi well/multi year drilling campaign.

Thanks
