14/1/2013 10:26 | Then there's Morocco. ==================== OIL: Chevron quietly landed in Morocco Posted Friday, December 21, 2012 0:57 The U.S. Chevron has created a subsidiary in Morocco, dedicated to the exploration of hydrocarbons. The oil giant has just created a Moroccan subsidiary, "Chevron Morocco Morocco Exploration Limited Branch", dedicated to the oil and gas exploration as well as "the achievement of production activities in Morocco." It is a framework Moroccan group, Ali Azizi, based in Texas, which will ensure the management. What is the target Chevron in the kingdom? It remains a mystery for now: the U.S. group has not communicated on the subject and the Moroccan Office of Hydrocarbons (ONHYM), which issues permits for exploration, did not want to answer questions Lakome. $ 33 billion of planned investments in 2013 December 5, Chevron presented its investment forecast for 2013: $ 33 billion devoted to its exploration and production, including Australia, Nigeria, USA, Kazakhstan, Angola or the Congo. But not a single allusion to Morocco ... Although its reported production of oil and natural gas is at its lowest level since 2008, Chevron fourth global energy group, is sitting on a treasure trove of war: $ 21.3 billion in cash reserves. Most industry analysts expect that the group uses these reserves soon to acquire one or more companies to smaller, specialized in the exploration of new deposits. Among the names circulating: Kosmos Energy Ltd., who discovered and operated Jubilee field in Ghana, a new Eldorado West Africa, but also holds several licenses on the coast of Mauritania and Morocco (off Essaouira, Agadir and Boujdour). | fairenough11 | |
