The regulator will make CNA non-financeable........all about debt and their cost of capital, smaller suppliers must thrive not fail or their model isn't working......competition and cheaper bills that's all it's about.

Why would they drop the cap, if wholesale prices go up they'll raise the cap, or were you being sarcastic?

Thanks knowing (living up to your name lol)....... "The prepayment price cap (sometimes called a safeguard' tariff) is expected to last until 2020, and the default tariff cap to 2023. By then we expect other reforms, like faster switching times and smart meters, alongside other advances in the energy industry, to bring about easier and fairer access to better deals. " ...................so we got this anti competition cap for the next 4 years, and we all know it will last longer than that, all so called "Temporary" measures do.

So Basically, Debt, Customer losses & the regulator price cap is the main points affecting this share? 1, Debt could be reduced through the sale of the Nuclear and Spirit Energy divisions 2, Customers could return as CNA current pricing seems to be the best out there (from comments) 3, What can be done about this price cap business? was this meant to be the normal government temporary thing (aka permanent) or is there a time limit for their interference in privately owned (not state owned) companies restricting their operations in a so called free capitalist country? ............................. They are treating the utilities as political pawns when the don't even have a financial or controlling interest how is this legal? Then again in a country that doesn't even carry out a democratic referendum result ..... say no!

Wondered when the issue of debt and the regulator basically making utility companies (starting with water) non financeable would start to be flagged.HTTP://www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/news/AN_1570614378887794300/uk-utilities-to-struggle-if-regulator-proposals-finalised---moodys.aspx
