Hi JP

Merry Christmas. Just had massive lunch at my nephews near Stansted. So proud of him. Now a captain with Ryanair, wife and two incredible children .
Not much of a drinker either just a couple of glasses today.

Markets are slapped senseless. I am forever optimistic and hope for a smart start in the new year.

Hi whatsup, hope your well. Yes have a good Christmas everybody. I think everyone one of us had a poor year this year. Hopefully all of you will make a lot of money in 2019. The FT 100 finished down 13 % so not surprising we are all down. Had a few to drink ( I don't drink ) best wishes to all :)

Without all the government and industry meddling imo the share price would now be around my year end prediction price of £1.75.

I can't make my mind up on this. On one hand it's good that Centrica have made a stand hopefully based on good facts and with a good chance of success.

On the other hand it could backfire as a PR exercise if Centrica are judged to be trying to soften the cap at the expense of customers.

Also it would have been much better if other suppliers supported the challenge- which I've not heard about. Nothing to stop them watching developments with no risk - but will gain if Centrica win the challenge.

On balance this looks a risky (and potentially costly) challenge- the timing is also far from ideal

What have centrica got to lose by taking them on? This must have been properly thought though my team cna. I am very interested to see how cna performs if the markets keep wobbling. Merry Christmas Mr Conn and team. I think you are quietly getting on with slowly turning centrica around. We just need some good news flow.

Why are the proposed new price controls announced by Ofgem assumed to affect Centrica?

The price controls (down to 4% from 2021) are wholly directed to distribution network operators not suppliers.

States 2021 (3 years away), so hopefully the 3 Billion in debt is payed off by the then so that would mean more profits. The rule states 4% of profits so in theory that could be 4% of the 3 Billion if payed off. Add to the existing profits could offset some of the loss from the current profit amount(not much but could help). Anyways im praying the share price recovers before then and i can sell before this hits......fingers crossed
