28/11/2017 08:12 | Sorry 8-9p. But not 12. | andycapp1
28/11/2017 08:11 | Correct! ie if they repeat 12p eps then at 1.4x they pay 8p. | andycapp1
28/11/2017 08:09 | ok i have got it now from the horses mouuth normal dividend cover 1.4 times happy with this year cover of 1.04 times and can maintain that can operate sub 1 times cover maybe as a one off but definitely not longterm and do not expect to need to. so all comes down to how much cash they throw off......... WJ. | w1ndjammer
28/11/2017 08:08 | Andy...I listened to the conference call, absolutely they confirmed what w1ndjammer saying. I don't agree with your interpretation . They did not say anything close to your interpretation. I suggest every body to listen to the conference call. No mention of 33% reduction,....I will post a bit more tonight. I have to go to work. | karateboy
28/11/2017 08:00 | He corrected himself or clarified to the institutions later. I did not say "on the call". If you read macquaries research they say held this year then cut next. Of course might not happen if big eps rebound but unlikely to stay at 12p. | andycapp1
28/11/2017 07:55 | RBC retains sector performer reduces target from 210 to 150 | dmf
28/11/2017 07:32 | If they cut the divi (for now) by 4p that is a good thing. This will make the market happy as the then see that divi paid is less than earnings. You would get that divi cut back back 2 or 3 times (if not more over time) in increased share price level. | hamhamham1
27/11/2017 23:43 | They will cut because they can't support it unless eps rebounds to 15/16p+...which it won't. So held this year likely cut the next. Still be yielding 5.5/6% at current share price | andycapp1
27/11/2017 23:41 | Andy...I just listened to the whole of call down ...I agree with W1endjammer not with you your interpretation. No mention of 33% or 8-9p .. I encourage other also to listen to the call down. | karateboy
27/11/2017 23:08 | Not true. CEO clarified it later to institutions by saying this year held but then see how it goes ie cut in 2018/19 likely, probably 33% to say 8-9p. So no wont be held barring miracle. | andycapp1
27/11/2017 23:07 | Not true. CEOckarified it later to institutions by saying this year held but then see how it goes IE cut in 2018/19 likely, probably 33% to say 8-9p. So no wont be held barring miracle. | andycapp1
27/11/2017 18:09 | conference call they are saying we can manage the dividend cover below historic levels into the future until the turnaround program is complete. WJ. | w1ndjammer
27/11/2017 17:42 | the dividend has already been cut this is the lowest since 2007 they made a loss of £1.4 billion in 2014 and a loss of £1.1 billion in 2015 dividend was still above current level why would they cut the divi now presumably they will make a profit in 2017 WJ. | w1ndjammer
27/11/2017 17:39 | Investor call is here... hxxps://www.centrica | stevepud
27/11/2017 17:27 | Portside try to say something sensible and not in capitals please! Look the Company is pursuing an asset lite strategy and will shed most of its remaining fossil and probably nuclear generation. The earnings look as though they will settle, assuming no more horrors, at around 12-14p and then one would hope might rebuild. The nuclear assets are definitely non core although what selling them does for eps I really don't know as its, presumably, a dividend based on annual output. And who is the buyer as EDP cant afford it and I cant see any other buyers given the EPRs are old and hence the cashflows are limited in duration apart from Sizewell. Maybe some far eastern loon fancies ponying up the cash! Anyhow, EPS is 12-14 so the dividend will be cut but not this year. Debt looks okay and could be better if they sell the nukes (caveated by don't know what its does for cashflow and EPS). North America is the problem child for me. Eye off ball and its a big cash and earnings contributor. They need to sort this out arguably more than the UK. But the strategy is right, whither the execution at the moment! | andycapp1
27/11/2017 16:46 | Ahh hxxps://www.centrica | hamhamham1

27/11/2017 16:04 | Now that would be nice, but seeing how this share has been performing over the last few years, I wouldn't be surprised if it just sits here well into the new year, unless we end up with a buy out?? | capeview
27/11/2017 16:03 | Almost makes you feel like we've had a result :( | nortic 007

27/11/2017 14:21 | He is also An idiot. Could imagine what would happen with his ideas....reduce margins to bring in loss making or marginalcustomers, profits down, no dividend and capital lost on a share buyback. | dr biotech
27/11/2017 14:04 | Portside please stop using capitals... it's hurting my eyes and brain!! | losses |
