Elections next month in France and Macron has made it clear he wants to take full control of EDF's overseas nuclear assets. Which given O'Shea doesn't even know if they are selling their stake in nuclear or not, makes Macron's aspirations a reality IMO, particularly as the French government are the majority holders at 84%.Classic clueless comment from Centrica in their recent results - "we currently have no plans to actively market our interest in Nuclear and therefore assume we will keep it".....in 2018 they said they were selling!.HTTPS://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-17/macron-says-french-state-should-take-control-of-some-edf-assets

Boris's energy strategy will be next news. In FY20 (and previous years) Direct Energy (DE)contributed about 57% of their adjusted earnings - O’Shea has now sold DE
In FY21 Spirit Norwegian assets contributed 59% to their adjusted operating profit - O’Shea has now sold these assets.
Yep their income will be increasing (due to energy retail increasing prices) but margins won’t (regulator sees to that) and continuously selling off their higher margin assets only means one thing - bottom line profit is halved and no growth medium ‘ long term.

Overvalued PE 21x FTSE Allshare 14xEarnings forecast to reduce circa 50% this FY, so a forward PE of 42xYep go to the ramping thread for a completely balanced view NOT

Best to await some real news

results and outlook might move the share price substantially in coming months, but which way one might ask

Taken an entry in the last couple of days around 80p. Revenue performance has improved over the last 18m and can see this being a positive defensive play as energy prices increase. Thoughts?
