01/4/2022 14:13 | Maxplus2, many customers won't be able to pay, leading to significant bad debts and possible write-offs. And how is CNA going to address the large pension shortfall. Not looking good for Centrica, just ask PurchaseAtTheBottom1 | discoinferno7

01/4/2022 12:25 | I imagine bad debt will increase, was a problem before prices increased.Customers can decide for themselves how much they pay by DD and would guess many won't be paying the "recommended" payments, they will pay less!. | disc0dave45
01/4/2022 11:56 | All IMHO DYORCould there be a problem with bad debts and customer debts. Based on Twitter there are a lot of people who are going to struggle with the DD going forward. If this becomes a sizeable number then will bad debts be an issue for centrica? | dandanactionman
01/4/2022 11:20 | Gas price increases will without doubt increase their revenue, but their energy retail business is heavily regulated and margins are paper thin.IMO there's a misconception that gas and electricity price increases (+54%) will fall straight to their bottom line, it won't. They have to buy the bulk of their energy requirements and standard variable tariff customers (must be the majority now, circa 5m+) usage estimates is not hedged, so they have to pay over the counter at the elevated rates.Once again, forecast earnings for this FY are a 48% to 57% reduction. Last FY they only managed adjusted eps of 4.1p, yep 4.1p on £18billion group revenue, that's a current PE of 20x and a forward PE of 40x.They keep selling off businesses that contribute massively to their bottom line (I.e. Direct Energy & Spirit). IMO cannot see any growth in profits for many years, but DYOR. | disc0dave45
01/4/2022 10:37 | People jumping to Centrica as companies are going bust. Gas orice is high- good for British Gas | maxplus2
01/4/2022 10:09 | Red5, with Spirit offloaded, earnings set to halve, huge pension deficit, high operating expenses and little chance of a dividend anytime soon, to name but a few problems, I suggest you AVOID Centrica like the plague and look elsewhere for a sensible investment. | intelligenttrader

01/4/2022 08:37 | Margins won't be going up but input costs will though.Consensus forecasts are for earnings to halve this FY with virtually zero growth thereafter. | disc0dave45
