That pension liability looks large for SAGA. Will they be able to afford 5.8 million next Feb?

Yep a paltry 2.8p eps for last FY after selling off a business that contributed 57% of their earnings. They have already stated Q1 is down and some idiot wants Covid to get worse and thinks it won't hit the share price for every business, not just his constant trashing of travel stocks.

notsoclever, I wouldn't want to be overweight in gas/energy companies with an uncertain financial outlook (eg CNA) or buy shares in companies at a higher price than a recent rights issue (eg ANIC). Thst's just asking for trouble. Would have been better to buy Saga in the 120s. Remember, always purchaseat_thebottom. You missed the boat!!!!

Let's face it, CNA lost 70% of its market value over 5 years and crashed out of the FTSE 100. It has stated that the financial outlook is uncertain due to the COVID-19 pandemic abd increase in competition. The share price is not going up much anytime soon, despite what the broker likes to say. Best to avoid this dog.

A big jobs report looms in the week ahead, as markets enter the often-weak month of June Published Fri, May 28 20213:26 PM EDTUpdated Fri, May 28 20216:21 PM EDT Patti Domm @pattidomm Key Points The May jobs report looms large for markets in the week ahead, with 674,000 jobs expected, after last month’s disappointing 266,000 payrolls. Stocks turned in a mixed performance in May, and according to Bespoke, June can be weak, with the Dow down on average 0.7% for the month over the last 20 years. The focus will largely be on the economy and the Fed in the coming week, after another hotter-than-expected inflation report was released Friday.

'As expected, Covid-19 continues to impact the Company. In Q1 2021, electricity demand from our UK business customers was negatively impacted by around 15%, residential boiler installations were down 11% compared to Q1 2020, and non-essential service visits were postponed in order to protect colleagues and customers from the risks of catching and spreading Covid-19.'

Nope, CNA have to find £175m this year and every year to 2025.That represents 40% of last years adjusted operating profit, and Q1 numbers are already down on last years.

From their finals:'The technical pension deficit, which is based on more conservative discount rate and inflation assumptions and determines the level of cash contributions into the schemes, was agreed at GBP1.4bn based on the 2018 triennial review. On a roll-forward basis using the same methodology from 2018, this technical provision deficit would be GBP1.9bn as at 31 December 2020.'Note the words "conservative discount rate and inflation assumptions". Not that you would understand anyway.

"However, this was offset by a £38.9bn increase in scheme assets, which rose to £411.2m due to the fall in interest rates."You are a waste of oxygen.
