Redundancies would have been by far the simplest cost effective way if they wanted less engineers. There would have been no strikes engineers happy to leave and decent morale going forward. Instead its chaos cost probably £100m and is doomed for failure. Excellent strategy by the board.

What I suggest these petitioners do is to agree to pay higher gas and electricity charges to enable BG to keep the engineers on, and when you have a problem with your boiler you can wait three days for a repair.
