20/9/2007 12:34 | Hi rambutan2, hope alls well! Are you comming on Tuesday night to the AST and LND presentation in Mayfair next week? | aim_trader
20/9/2007 09:49 | should be good news as previous brokers obviously weren't up to the job... Central African Gold plc, the AIM traded gold mining and exploration company, has appointed RBC Capital Markets as its new Broker with immediate effect. CAG Chief Executive Greg Hunter said, "We are very pleased to announce the appointment of RBC as our new Broker. The appointment of such a high calibre name is further evidence of our development and growth to date. We look forward to working closely with the RBC team during our next growth phase as we endeavour to achieve our strategic objective of becoming a leading mid-tier African gold producer with world-class exploration and production assets." | rambutan2
19/9/2007 23:25 | well, it's certainly attracted the punters - not! let me just check the price of gold... | rambutan2
15/9/2007 23:24 | Excellent link / piece of info... tks rambutan2. | tanazuk
15/9/2007 15:52 | minesite presentation link... | rambutan2
14/9/2007 14:17 | picked up another 8,500 - > gold over US$700 and looks set to move higher so thought it not a silly idea to buy the stock of an undervalued gold company... | metalera
12/9/2007 12:28 | There's a new "Greg's blog" on the website. Nothing really new: just positive bits about equipment arriving and preparations for mining. Continues to give the impression of energetic activity. Very much looking forward to announcement of greatly increased Bibiani reserves and of the start of production there. Might conceivably do something for the share price? | mikkydhu
12/9/2007 07:43 | I have loads of zim shares all sorts of plc, had them years when things get sorted out in zim it maybe the fastest expanding stockmarket in the world, LIKE IT ONCE WAS so holding and WAITING maybe a while yet though. | gardenarc
12/9/2007 00:49 | well I bought for the first time after minesite today - am a little worried about zimbabwe - things do get sorted out in the end but not perhaps until most wealth has been destroyed there. | wolstencroft
11/9/2007 23:02 | nice solid presentation at minesite today, which should be available on thurs or fri. nothing bad to report. the boss at rather a loss as to why mkt valueing CAN so lowly at present. but i don't think he's content to let it stay there. i get the feeling that the next resource statement will read pleasantly. current mkt cap of £40m seems plain wrong imho. which, of course, isn't to say it won't drop further! | rambutan2
11/9/2007 00:00 | I noticed the same trade type before and it was deleted or ammended to 37.491p I believe. | tanazuk
10/9/2007 16:26 | mikky, i haven't a clue. the price seems to be getting v depressed considering where gold currently is. my guess is that there is an overhang from one of the hedge funds holding. in any case, hopefully some info will come out at minesite tomorrow. | rambutan2
10/9/2007 15:26 | There has been a strange trade today of 710,000 shares at the extraordinary price of 374.191 p. It's a broker to broker trade with conditions attached. A similar trade occured a few weeks ago and was eventually cancelled. Does anyone have any idea what this means? | mikkydhu
06/9/2007 23:40 | ok, i wouldn't name them as my favourite broker, but it's better than nought... 31 Aug - Central African Gold plc - Hoodless Brennan and just noticed that they presenting at minesite this coming tues... Central African Gold underwent a major change at the beginning of 2006 when a new and experienced management and operational team under Greg Hunter took over. The company currently operates the Bibiani gold mine in Ghana which is expected to produce 50,000 ozs gold this year, mostly from tailings, and ramp up to 110,000 ozs by the end of 2008 from underground mining. The purchase of two gold mines in Zimbabwe earlier this year should add further to production and the company also prospective exploration properties in Mali and Botswana. CAG claims a track record of working and developing projects under difficult economic and political conditions. will be interesting to see what the community makes of them. | rambutan2
29/8/2007 13:02 | Thanks for clearing the curiosity rambutan2. | tanazuk
28/8/2007 22:58 | tanazuk, what makes you think it was at a CAN mine? they don't have a mine in SA as far as i know. | rambutan2
28/8/2007 17:28 | Just curious if it was found at one of the CAN gold mines.???? | tanazuk
14/8/2007 10:40 | The present reserve at Bibiani is 299,000 ounces. Before the recent increase in resources, the total of reserves and resources at Bibiani was 1,473,000 ounces. If they convert just some of those original resources into reserves, they might achieve a total Bibiani reserve of 1,000,000 ounces. If that total can be achieved, and if a value of $100/ounce for reserves in a producing mine is appropriate...(we need to hear that the underground mine is working again in the next few months)... then that would value CAN's Ghanaian assets alone at about £50 million, with Zimbabwe and Mali in for free. If the reserves come in above 1 million, to the degree that they do, the company is increasingly undervalued. If below a million, we just have to wait a little longer. | mikkydhu
06/8/2007 11:45 | Something to look forward to soon: From the Bibiani news release of 30 July: "An Ore Reserve statement is anticipated during early August, which will include the modification of certain of the mineral resources to Ore Reserve category." | mikkydhu
31/7/2007 09:30 | time to pick up a few more ;-) | metalera
30/7/2007 23:05 | mikky, yes, effectively it became a new vehicle last year when mr hunter moved in and mr edmonds moved out. hunter has a good reputation and many contacts across africa. hopefully his time as an analyst will have taught him to try and avoid the many pitfalls of the mining business... | rambutan2
30/7/2007 22:50 | The 24g/t sounds promising! Surely this upgrade should see a breakout from the recent sidewards trading range. | fumbish |
