nice posts scrutable. I also paid 'too much' this week, 10k @ 67p. I entirely agree with you about raising the price to reflect what one has to pay to buy the stock. seems daft this way. Anyway, hopefully it turns out I didn't pay too much either..

If it makes you feel better, I actually hold 30,000 but paid 'too much' (hopefully not) for all of them.

months ago, unable to contact the Nil brothers, I put it to the PR people that it was counterproductive for the Nils to insist on holding controlling shares, since that devalued them. Bizarrely if they were to sell 36% and reduce to a (large) minority status they could have their cake and eat it. The price would rise sufficiently for th balance to be worth as much as the 86% holding AND they would have the £22m proceeds to enjoy or redeploy.

They said that they thought that something would be done at the time of the annual results............ Well let's see.

Scrutable - Hi - good post and your are perfectly justified to feel a tad 'frustrated' (?)

I'm afraid I don't have all the answers to the reasonable issues you raise.

I saw the 10k go through just as I was thinking of doing a similar deal. At that time I was trying to guess what I would be offered for such a quantity - I thought 70p'ish and hey presto - it WAS 70p for a decent sized chunk of 10k.

I can see why you took it, but at the same time it never feels good or fair to pay over the offer price.

As you probably know, about 90% of the shares here are held by members of the management - very very little stock around. I believe liquididy issues are due to be looked at - have they released any more shares into free float recently? I thought I had heard they released a few hundred k? Maybe I'm mistaken. Certainly such illiquidity can work both ways. I think there will be a demand for stock in coming days so what will the market makers do? They must aquire some, some how. Will they send this sky high and induced a wave of profit taking? I don't know. Or perhaps the management will release some stock...? I don't know - perhaps it will be a combination of both?? It is re-assuring that even though we have had very little newsflow (as you point out) sellers have been thin on the ground here for months. Anyone who has got bored 'should' be out by now.

The dramatic rise in share price earlier in the year was met with talk from the management in an RNS of : Deal flow remains strong...markets growing for our products/services etc etc....

That was a very bullish statement...

Well, we haven't got long to wait....and...IMO...I wish I had your 10k. I am tempted to sell elsewhere to help fund more here.

No advice intended, ADYOR not for widdows/orphans etc

Cheers.

Scrutes - good to hear it was you that bagged the 10k!

Always reassuring to see you put your money where your tips lie.

O/T can you take a look at Tandem TND - I'm over on that thread - looks a superb recovery job to me.

I feel this may edge towards 70p this week in anticipation of next weeks results.............................
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have been trying to add a decent fistful for a week without results. Only 1000 were on offer this afternoon. Knowing the results date is now just six trading days away I gave in and paid 70p for 10,000 today. There was not one share in the market. The m/m had to borrow the 10k to supply me.

I can't understand how they work: effectively the price was already 70p. If so why don't they raise the quote to reflect reality?

If there are no shares in the market, how are they going no create liquidity if they don't substantially raise the price to induce some selling?

Is it not time that market makers actually made a market in a share like this one?

I have never been so non-plussed about a coming result. There have been few straws in the wind other than the strong outlook statement in the interims, and just two subsequent RMNS .

They could be anything. Turnover could lie between £16m and £40m , profits between £3m and £8m, eps between 2.5p and 8p with the outcome most probably in the middle of those numbers.

The first half results will at first sight obscure the second half by being combined with it to arrive at the FY figures. To value the company with an appropriate yardstick it will be essential to subtract H1 from the final results to get H2, and then annualise that.

Good luck to all of us.

very nice! the massive spike will come with the results IMO--then if you take some profit you find you can't easily buy back in. I hope the Nils do release more shares to market as this will make a huge difference to liquidity.

Gently, steadily, easing up off the bottom and floating away nicely.

Better than thin and nasty spikes.
