Ha.
I am not an expert in mining, but I do know what investors look out for .
Those that claim to have expertise in every sector in the stock market are likely deluding themselves but collaboration on the boards and information sharing has to be a good thing.

Thanks for the various. CGT 43% I believe is only for individuals earning >$1m. So should not deter corporate investment. Starting to drill again this month - hoping we get an encouraging RNS to confirm this. How long to get a result from the drill?Floating off BHA on ASX with deposits on LSE and CCZ keeping a royalty would be a great way to benefit us shareholders. And allow BHA to raise mining funds independently.

Yes this month, the exploratory work expected to be started by the looks of it.

' 11 new targets at Mt Oxide as exploration resumes

Castillo Copper Limited (LSE and ASX: CCZ), a base metal explorer primarily focused on copper across Australia and Zambia, is delighted to confirm that improving weather conditions should enable a resumption of exploratory work in April 2021 at the core Mt Oxide Project in the Mt Isa copper-belt district of Queensland, Australia. In addition, further forensic work has uncovered 11 new targets and further details on the Arya Prospect's geological potential. '

I think the Proactive videos give more info about where we are at and judging by this link a certain amount of drilling has already happened.
We could do with another but this is where we are at I think judging by this March report ....

' Strategic intent to recommence mining operations at Big One Deposit

Modelling for inaugural JORC compliant resource at Big One Deposit expected shortly as the Board firms up plans to apply for a mining lease

Castillo Copper Limited (LSE and ASX: CCZ), a base metal explorer primarily focused on copper across Australia and Zambia, is pleased to announce that following a series of excellent assay results, alongside highly favourable forward global demand for copper, the Company is focusing its strategic intent on progressing Big One Deposit and starting to prepare the groundwork to potentially recommence mining operations.

They are excited about the Big One here,a couple of months ago.
Scale and high grade copper, the word 'economic' gets used.
Rainy season at this point provides delay.
Ground geophysical results recommence drilling gets mentioned as and when things progress.
There is a geophysical campaign
Also a mining license required it seems .

Do you think 'divested' means they might sell the BHA Project?

Will just say this donaferentes as a follow up to above...

'On Thursday Biden officials leaked that they will soon propose raising the federal tax on capital gains to 43.4% from a top rate of 23.8% today. The midday leak managed to tank stocks with the S&P falling the most in more than a month. Treasury yields also fell on the news as investors discounted the prospect for growth. “A 43.4% Capital Gains Tax?” Opinion Page, Wall Street Journal, April 23, 2021.'

I suppose what I'm saying is that I believe it is a general weakening rather than specific to Castillo copper .

You could argue that it's good that you are able to trust your own judgement and not get influenced by the 'herd' mentality contraiwise.
I'm with oakville in that,if you do your research and the time is right, then if a company has real assets it's value at some point will surely be recognised.
I will say though, that I sense a note of caution generally in the markets at present.
Proven companies are treading water in some cases.
It might be that investors are concerned that the big times for shares is dwindling, especially if interest rates rise.

There is the adage that you ought not to put in more than you could afford to lose and I think that is important just now.

However, drilling is happening and they have a lot going for them.
It is supposed to be a time for commodities and tangible assets so am looking forward to any news!

No funding concerns. I try and buy small coppers that are not going to dilute. Just an unloved share not on anybody's radar !

Question from a new investor: what am I missing?

When I look at the drill results for the Mt Oxide project I see some of the highest grades in the world. The Pukaqaqa project under development in Peru has Cu grades of around 0.45% whereas Mt Oxide is 1.8% up to 16.6%. At current Cu prices this should be one of the most exciting developments anywhere.

So why are the shares so cheap? Why is the market cap just £22m? Is it just funding concerns?

A bullish article above ,the only exception I've seen is Liber ium who believe it will lose it's shine.
I can't really see that as infrastructure is set to be attended to as things take off after the pandemic and EV's demand more copper.
I guess we will be able to rely on gold also if things do change?

Though we are primarily a base metal company with zinc and cobalt alongside,so probably not.
