18/10/2016 07:25 | Declared short positions - from what is being said those will probably increase - or not... | mirandaj
17/10/2016 18:59 | edmundshaw It is looking particularly hopeful and the Carillion people are all ready | mirandaj
17/10/2016 16:53 | As far as the pension and debt is concerned, I thought investing at 300p was touch and go. At 240p I think it is just "go"! :-) | edmundshaw
17/10/2016 16:52 | Thanks Mirandaj. I noted that "The scheme is dependant (sic) on £50m of funding, provisionally granted five years ago by the Department for Transport. Lincolnshire’s council expects the DfT to reaffirm its commitment to the scheme following the Autumn Statement." So it is not a firm project yet. | edmundshaw
15/10/2016 11:01 | Lots of chatter from various analysts about their pension deficit and how it threatens their divi. I have been looking to buy for some time but I will probably wait for their next update before making a decision. | salpara111
14/10/2016 15:21 | CLLN should speak to govt and offer to (part)finance and build some council houses/ flats, in return for (part)rental income and support services contract. With a margin for profit similar to average CLLN currently has. Not sure how it would work or if it would work. But I have been banging on about this on various company threads. Any views? | m4rtinu
14/10/2016 14:04 | Well spotted. Clln presumably view it as too small for an RNS? | wad collector
14/10/2016 11:56 | Carillion beats Hochtief, Sisk/Lagan and Graham JV to build Lincoln Eastern Bypass: | mirandaj
13/10/2016 21:20 | Economists, they really don't know how things are going to pan out. They think they do, they are paid to do, but how man really make correct call after correct call? Looking at fundies as an example Crispin Odey. Nice call in 2007/ 8; not so good this year so far. We're still in the same intervention-policy- Jim O'Neil once told me that equity facing investors should concentrate on equities. And not worry about all that other noise. (I have paraphrased that somewhat). | thorpematt
13/10/2016 17:00 | Sure carillion will benefit from increased gov infrastructure spend? Most economists seem to believe the gov needs to spend through the brexit turmoil and various news reports have confirmed that Hammond is abandoning austerity. Surely positive for Carillion? | breaktwister
13/10/2016 16:53 | Blimey crazy price. Looking to buy now! | gswredland
12/10/2016 08:41 | If monty turns up on all the threads that anyone contributes too, they need (ie I need)to rebalance my portfolio :) | m4rtinu
11/10/2016 19:51 | Don't panic Captain Mainwaring. | redartbmud
11/10/2016 19:35 | Oh no , monty is here . Perhaps it is a portentous omen? | wad collector
09/10/2016 05:08 | Knew you would be here Money.Mr Doom and Gloom.RDSB doing well now !!! | garycook
08/10/2016 16:28 | I can't see this going anywhere, with the slowdown in the industry.Does seem a value trap. | montyhedge
07/10/2016 16:15 | Well,if it does get to 220 -230 got ta be a screaming buy | gswredland
06/10/2016 07:29 | Company doing moderately well and winning contracts. Pays 7.4% covered twice by earnings. PE a ridiculous 8.2. That's all you need to know. Shorts have increased again this week and that's what's holding the price down. I am told that there is not much liquidity in the stock and yet the shorters have managed to acquire another 2% over the past month. Well it doesn't take an Einstein to realise that something is going to blow here eventually. Why be frustrated? Compare 7% with a bank. Meanwhile if the management continues to do a good job it's just a matter of time. | lab305
05/10/2016 12:03 | The most frustrating stock in the world award goes to........... | spoole5
05/10/2016 09:11 | Reckon 220-230 is a good re-entry point. | tini5
05/10/2016 08:37 | So the downward spiral resumes. | spoole5
04/10/2016 18:02 | Any one of us could write a column like that about our portfolios and it would be worth no more or no less than his opinion. | spoole5
04/10/2016 14:51 | Bearbull has lost his touch (different journalist, I know). The column is now dull as ditch water and offers nothing to any reader. | lord gnome
04/10/2016 14:05 | RCT,Rights again LOL | garycook |
