Posted at 19/1/2022 10:22 by texaspete2 BBC News ticker headline stating care home vacancies have doubled over past nine months... doesn't say what the number is though, but interesting trend which may play a part here. I was invested here and sold out at 570p.Can inflation costs be passed directly onto customers of CTH, anyone know? |
Posted at 16/1/2022 10:05 by skyship A RICS report has called for the ‘primary mechanism’ for valuing real estate to shift from estimating the ‘exchange price’ to values based on future income calculated using discounted cashflow (DCF). [DCF in general use for infrastructure. If adopted what will be the effect on reported NAVs?]-Over three-quarters of UK commercial real estate investors and property professionals polled in a study by Deepki predicted the capital value and rental income of their real estate assets would depreciate by over 20% if their ESG performance failed to improve. [Watch the GRESB score.] -Care home operators’ costs are set to rise by a total of £165m across the sector this year due to the increased costs of labour, supply and finance, representing a 30% increase, according to research by Knight Frank. [Might have an adverse effect on Impact Healthcare Reit, Target Healthcare REIT ] |
Posted at 13/1/2022 16:51 by sphere25 EssentialInvestor,This is the difficult thing at the moment. It is difficult to gauge inflation and how high these costs are spiralling relative to market expectations. Noticing alot of companies continuing to caution on costs including outright warnings like CARD today. If the FED have changed their viewpoint to inflation no longer being transitory, and interest rate expectations there have gone from no rate rises this year (about four months back) to now three (and even talk of four or five), how do us mere normal mortals work things through? Wonder how they unwind all the current stimulus, and then unwind the balance sheet, without causing a substantial sell off in all parts of the market. It will be interesting to see how inflation pans out with central banks having to go into reverse now. As for CTH, I just don't know enough deeply about each and every company so the stop will have to do its job. There has been alot of large notable buying here too, but clearly not enough to eventually outstrip the sellers, who have sold through them and caused the price to make another new low. Let's see what the next update brings and if there is another go here. Usually end up wandering off to a different part of the market when something else catches the eye though ha All imo DYOR |
Posted at 12/1/2022 14:06 by essentialinvestor Sphere, know this sector well and there are very significant staff recruitment issues. Is CTH immune from this?. That may arguably feed through to margins and capacity. |
Posted at 12/1/2022 13:59 by sphere25 I've got this wrong.Clearly too early and the market must be more concerned about the rising costs (on numerous fronts) than I anticipated. That is in spite of the recent report suggesting they were confident on the costs as well as the significant price correction already. But I won't fight the market. That is what stops are there for too. Happy to accept when something goes wrong. Possibly revisit this one. Been loitering mainly around the value plays (NRR, DLAR, SUP, MER, LOOK, SRC, SAA - trading in and out too) awaiting growth shares (just picked up a few CNIC) to come down for a nibble but clearly too soon at CTH. I thought it was value! All imo DYOR |
Posted at 05/1/2022 14:43 by sphere25 Had a little go here.Current bid-offer is 581p-585p but you can buy at 581.4p. The bulls are trying to take control of that key mark at 580p to form a break higher and bull trend. Someone is still in the market knocking the bid back from 583p to 580p, which is currently preventing the break higher. The bid keeps rebuilding at those price points so the bulls are trying to exhaust the sellers here. It might be early but trying to play an eventual break higher. Stuck a stop under 570p if I'm wrong. Very gappy and illiquid one this but some small bullish points of note encourages a little go. Can we exhaust these sellers to break higher? All imo DYOR |
Posted at 04/1/2022 15:47 by sphere25 Price 577pThe book is significantly better bid than usual here. Price points at 570p-575p carry stronger demand. 191.5k picked up at 575p at 15:32. The bull-bear battle continues with a flatline stalemate, but in light of the demand, one to keep a closer eye on. All imo DYOR |
Posted at 08/12/2021 09:02 by skyship Tanked? Still up 11% YTD; and surely just a healthy correction after a long and sustained rise! Sometimes right to take some money off the table when a share price gets over-extended.free stock charts from uk.advfn.com |
Posted at 05/9/2021 16:39 by skyship Sorry, incorrect stat above. Actually CTH represents 18.8% of CIP portfolio! |
Posted at 01/9/2021 19:53 by jakeisme1 Did spot it's mentioned on Motley Fool today as a potential. Will watch this space. It's hard to know what's a good price to add with it doing so well. Not sure where the ceiling is guna be. |
